What's not to love about Mai Thai? This place has a lovely ambiance, friendly staff and most important tasty food. I have a few favorite dishes that never disappoint: yum woon sen, red curry with duck, crying tiger, bbq chicken, bbq ribs and pad thai. If you're not full after trying all these dishes, their mango sticky rice is excellent too. If you're looking for a place to fill your belly with yummy food and not empty your wallet, I highly recommend this place.

I have visited several Thai restaurants and this is easily the best one. The food is excellent, and I especially liked their variety of curries. The service is also splendid, the staff are very attentive and very friendly. This one is is worth a try!

My boyfriend and I eat at Mai Thai probably once a week or every other week. The food is always fresh and delicious. I don't eat things really spicy, but my boyfriend loves spicy food and there are alot of options for both of us. Our favorite is the garlic and pepper beef, they also have really good soups, my favorite is the vegetable tofu. They also have the best Thai iced tea, sometimes I go there just for that!!! Their appetizers are good also, I love the cucumber salad and the Thai beef jerky. You can't beat it for the price and the quality of food. I def recommend this place!!!
- Pros: food, price

Mai Thai restaurant in Fountain Valley is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. For the amount of food you get, the price is very reasonable. The food is flavorful and you get to pick your spicy level (1-10) for any dish you order. I had the lunch special, red curry with beef and I just can't recommend it enough. I ordered it hot & spicy, about #7 and definitely had a big kick to it. The creaminess of the coconut milk in the sauce provided the perfect compliment to the spice. With their lunch specials you get a large scoop of rice, soup of the day, salad, and one of their awesome wonton puffs (these appetizers are definitely recommended). A couple of other favorites that I like to order include Pineapple Fried Rice, Vegetable Delight, Grilled Salmon, Spicy Lemon Pork, and Tom Yum soup. I've tried these dishes and more and have always been satisfied. All I know is the little old lady in the kitchen can cook like nobody's business.
The service is always friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant with traditional Thai decor.

I joined Citysearch to give some balance to previously posted reviews of this restaurant (which were the reason I chose to take my family there for dinner last night). We have travelled to Thailand on a few ocassions and so have some basis for comparison of the food served here with that served in Thailand. The green curry was good - the best dish we ordered; the satays' were also quite nice. The beef salad, shrimp salad, soup (chicken and coconut), Pineapple Fried Rice and spicy eggplant were average. The fishcakes and sticky rice were awful.
The service was very good, the waitress was courteous, attentive but didn't hover. The portions were pretty good (we ended up taking a fairly large 'to-go' box home with us).
Overall, if you are looking for a reasonable meal at an affordable price - this restaurant is for you. If you are looking for something that tastes like Thai food does in Thailand this restaurant is lowish on my scale - I would suggest that you try somewhere else.
- Pros: value for money, service, the green curry
- Cons: food, on-the-whole, was average.
Wonderful experience.

My girlfriend and I just found this place through Citysearch. It was a little bit out of our way, but we decided to try it anyway due to the fantastic reviews. It's located in a fairly boring outdoor mall, next to a Big Lots, so when we first got there we thought we may have made a mistake. As soon as we walked in, we realized we hadn't, though. The restaurant has beautiful, authentic decor and, as we walked in, a pleasant smell of peanut sauce pervaded the air. The service was extremely friendly. We both ordered dinner specials -- I had a chicken curry, my girlfriend had their pad thai. We both got the coconut soup with it, and we shared a little bit of our food with each other. Absolutely everything was DELICIOUS -- so much so that I'm signing up for citysearch's membership specifically to write this review. And the amount of food that comes as part of the dinner specials was quite plentiful. When the check finally came, we were genuinely surprised that it came to just over $15. We were ready to pay much more. I think we're both already ready to count this restaurant amongst our favorites... And we highly recommend it to everyone else.
- Pros: Delicious food, plentiful portions, extremely affordable.
- Cons: Can't think of any.

This place is located in the rite aid plaza. They have a really great atmopshere. The place is decorated and looks very authentic. I ordered the pad thai here which is one of my favorite dishes. It didn't taste bad but was really different from any other pad thai dishes that i have had before.

I fell in love with Thai food and now eat at Mai Thai regularly! The Yellow Curry, Beef and Broccli, and Hot and Sour soup are a few of my favorites! The atmosphere at Mai Thai is right out of Thailand... the owner herself is from Thailand, the decore is mello and romantic, the service is good, and the people are really warm and welcoming.
- Pros: dine in or take out
- Cons: it's small
