The best Thai Food!
by dianawoodside1959
This is by far the best Thai place i have eaten at. The staff is also very friendly and helpful in suggesting dishes and accomodating requests. I love Thai food and now that I am no longer working in LA, I miss this place so much!
- Pros: Service, food, value
- Cons: I can't find a similar restaurant where I live!
always very good...

My boyfriend and I eat at Mai Thai probably once a week or every other week. The food is always fresh and delicious. I don't eat things really spicy, but my boyfriend loves spicy food and there are alot of options for both of us. Our favorite is the garlic and pepper beef, they also have really good soups, my favorite is the vegetable tofu. They also have the best Thai iced tea, sometimes I go there just for that!!! Their appetizers are good also, I love the cucumber salad and the Thai beef jerky. You can't beat it for the price and the quality of food. I def recommend this place!!!
- Pros: food, price

Average food, good service and good value for money

I joined Citysearch to give some balance to previously posted reviews of this restaurant (which were the reason I chose to take my family there for dinner last night). We have travelled to Thailand on a few ocassions and so have some basis for comparison of the food served here with that served in Thailand. The green curry was good - the best dish we ordered; the satays' were also quite nice. The beef salad, shrimp salad, soup (chicken and coconut), Pineapple Fried Rice and spicy eggplant were average. The fishcakes and sticky rice were awful.
The service was very good, the waitress was courteous, attentive but didn't hover. The portions were pretty good (we ended up taking a fairly large 'to-go' box home with us).
Overall, if you are looking for a reasonable meal at an affordable price - this restaurant is for you. If you are looking for something that tastes like Thai food does in Thailand this restaurant is lowish on my scale - I would suggest that you try somewhere else.
- Pros: value for money, service, the green curry
- Cons: food, on-the-whole, was average.
Wonderful experience.

My girlfriend and I just found this place through Citysearch. It was a little bit out of our way, but we decided to try it anyway due to the fantastic reviews. It's located in a fairly boring outdoor mall, next to a Big Lots, so when we first got there we thought we may have made a mistake. As soon as we walked in, we realized we hadn't, though. The restaurant has beautiful, authentic decor and, as we walked in, a pleasant smell of peanut sauce pervaded the air. The service was extremely friendly. We both ordered dinner specials -- I had a chicken curry, my girlfriend had their pad thai. We both got the coconut soup with it, and we shared a little bit of our food with each other. Absolutely everything was DELICIOUS -- so much so that I'm signing up for citysearch's membership specifically to write this review. And the amount of food that comes as part of the dinner specials was quite plentiful. When the check finally came, we were genuinely surprised that it came to just over $15. We were ready to pay much more. I think we're both already ready to count this restaurant amongst our favorites... And we highly recommend it to everyone else.
- Pros: Delicious food, plentiful portions, extremely affordable.
- Cons: Can't think of any.

I fell in love with Thai food and now eat at Mai Thai regularly! The Yellow Curry, Beef and Broccli, and Hot and Sour soup are a few of my favorites! The atmosphere at Mai Thai is right out of Thailand... the owner herself is from Thailand, the decore is mello and romantic, the service is good, and the people are really warm and welcoming.
- Pros: dine in or take out
- Cons: it's small

If you want Authentic Thai food that is FRESH and GOOD, then definitely eat here. The food is delicious and spicy to your desire; the ambience is warm and inviting; the service is quick and friendly; and they also deliver. Mai Thai has the best "Hot and Sour Soup" that I've ever had. You've got to try it. Definitely, most definitely eat here!
- Pros: Delicious, Inexpensive, Quick

This place has great food. Personally I can tell when my food is cheap. I hate that! THIS IS NOT that case! when I eat here everything I get taste delicious with top quality. from curry's to fried rice, to spicy sea food in chili suace. and I can get as spicy as I like it, or not. I love their PAD THAI, PA-NANG PINEAPPLE CURRY, and the CRYING TIGER. these dishes are the best at mai thai. I can honestly recommend mai thai to every one. this place has quality food, friendly service, and a nice pleasant ambience.
- Pros: quality, friendly, clean
- Cons: strip mall, dozen tables
