authentic Japanese drinking and dining spot

If you want authentic Japanese food, Kappo Sui is the place to go. Instead of the typical rolls and teriyaki, this small, rather obscure restaurant offers a variety of plates. These are small plates that you order with your sake though, so it's not really a place to go for a hearty meal. Though you can order larger fish or steak entrees. However, you'd want to go with someone who is familiar with these dishes, because I would've been pretty clueless if it wasn't for my Japanese friend.

A tucked away gem...

Alittle hard to find, but the food in incredible here. If you are into small plates, this is the place to go. They got all kind of Japanese small plates, from chicken to octopus. Make sure you ask the waitresses for help, because it can be intimidating at first. Pretty much all Japanese people eating there. There was just an article in the OC Register about them too.
- Pros: Small plates, Authentic food
- Cons: Alittle pricey, Long wait at times
