Secret Gem in Laguna Beach is no Longer a Secret
by laker247
I am a big fan of Sorrento Grill and lately I find myself to make any excuse to go there for Happy Hour to Enjoy some Fine Wine and Martinis. My favorite is there Port selection. I got a Sweet Tooth and they take care of it for me. The service is always top notch!
- Pros: Delicious Desserts to go with the Fine Port Wine
- Cons: None
Great Laguna Hot Spot
by PamelaAnnHorton
Last night my best friend Bill and I ate at the cooking bar and had a nice cozy spot all to ourselves. We shared the spincah salad which had some very interesting spinach...red colored...but the cheese crouton and dressing with candied walnuts made the salad delicious.
Bill had chicken and mashed potatoes which were reportedly delicious. I did get a bite of the potatos. I had the special tomatoes and cheese, can't remember the fancy name but it was fabulous.
For dessert, yes we had barely enough room, was an incredible french toast tiramisu with bananas and walnut ice cream!
Yum yum yum...have always liked this corner dining spot and it's still as good as when it first opened...although quite different with the creative touches and tastes of Chef Ryan Adams and Manager Lori McLean. Kudos to all!
- Pros: Wonderful food, great ambiance
- Cons: Like most restaurants these days, a little noisy
LAGUNA'S FAVORITE
by cskenderian
For me the no. 1 draw is the ambiance. This place feels so right and so Laguna casual elegance. A close second and first to most folks is the incredible dining experience with Wilhelm at the helm - no pun intended. Always fresh, beautifully prepared and smartly plated.
I love it
- Pros: Best Martini Bar in town
- Cons: can be noisy
Better than LA or NYC

FABULOUS just about covers it!
David Wilhelm and Ryan Adams are truly talented and not to be missed in your culinary travels through the OC.
The new small plates menu is amazing and affordable.
- Pros: Great vibe, food and cocktails!
- Cons: Parking in the summer can be challenging
Wilhelm's back!!!
by Sioux
I love Sorrento! Now that David Wilhelm's back in charge, the restaurant has stepped it up a notch! The minute you walk in, the energy of the restaurant is a perk.
I love the paparadelle stroganoff. Sinful, but, soooooooo good. Glass of champagne? Makes for a perfect evening. I definitely will be a regular!
The Perfect Blend
by REP13
With restaranteur David Wilhelm back at the helm, and Chef Ryan Adams in the kitchen, this Laguna Beach gem has been restored to its full luster. Offering a perfect blend of ambience, enough "noise" to keep things lively, friendly and professional service, and fantastic but not over the top food, Sorrento Grill offers the perfect blend for any dinner in Laguna. The new small plates and summer menu also make it more accessable than ever. Enjoy.
- Pros: Perfect Blend of ambience, service, and food
- Cons: There is only one
Great New Menu!!!!!
by Rikker
Recently I saw that David Wilhelm is involved again. Since Sorrento was no longer a Culinary Adventures restaurant I had been staying away. I came in with my wife and tried the new Summer menu last week. It was Great! Glad you're back David. My hats off to Chef Ryan.
- Pros: The new Summer Menu is really GOOD
Escaping reality
by penutgallery
I have been to Sorrento a number of times and have yet to be disappointed. I'm not a foody so reader beware, but I really enjoy the wood-grilled ceaser salad and either the short-ribs or halibut for entrees. It is the best first-date place in Laguna Beach given the lively, yet intimate feel. Staff is always fantastic.
- Pros: Great food and atmosphere
- Cons: Sometimes too lively
The best of Laguna
by yayaya008
I love this place. Just off the main drag it is what restuarants apsire to be. Great food, service and atmosphere make it my favorite hideaway in town. Some nights it is a party and other nights it is the perfect cozy spot for two. Sitting upstairs is the best.
- Pros: Atmosphere, attention to detail and the variety of tastes.
- Cons: Parking can be tough but it is worth it.
great place to feel welcome

The five or so-times I've been to Sorrento Grille over the past few years, it's been consistently good, and the staff has been super friendly. I prefer the Seabass and the Salmon, and love the Yukon Gold Potatoes that come with it...and the portions are generous so I know when I'm back in LA, I'll have a little Sorrento Grille the next day. It's worth the drive, to hang out and dine in Laguna Beach...Consistency and longevity are hard to find so it's great to know that Sorrento Grille and its great food and friendly staff will be there when I'm daycationing.
- Pros: warm atmosphere, consistently great food
- Cons: wish it were in my backyard
