Love the New Menu....Awesome Stuff!!
by hbpete
My wife and I have enjoyed Salt Creek Grille dozens of times over the past 10 years we've been dining there. When we hear about their new menu, we were excited to see how they could make a great menu even better. Our experience exceeded our expectations....and we've always loved the amazing food and attentive, friendly service. The new Chilean Seabass was the most extraordinary dishes I have "ever" enjoyed. My wife had the new bone-in filet ad it was cooked perfectly. We will be back next weekend for our anniversary!
- Pros: Food, Ambiance, Service
Great happy hour
by localoc45
My husband & I love to come to Salt Creek for their happy hour. Great deal on wine and appetizers. When we finish in their bar area we go outside and enjoy the fire pit. Monday night is the best night for Salt Creek. The only gripe we have is that they pour their $3 happy hour glasses of wine very short. So, it might not be much of a deal. But, we will definetly be back.
Best Champagne Brunch in OC
by ocforever422
Where to start? There are so many things to love about Salt Creek Grille. Their champagne brunch is easily the best in OC and has become a Mother's Day tradition with our family. The omelette and pasta bar have a great variety of veggies, meats (breakfast and otherwise) cheeses and sauces. The large back room is also full of breakfast favorites (waffles, pancakes) as well some great specialties (breakfast quiches - yum!) and other treats such as shrimp and crab legs. And the mini creme-brulees on the dessert table are fantastic. Dinner at Salt Creek is also superb. I could eat their stuffed halibut every night of the week! The seabass and salmon are also very good. Only thing that kept me from giving SCG a 10 was that our service last night was uncharacteristically poor. Our server was inattentive and seemingly humorless. I know from prior experience that she is certainly an exception to the rule (everyone else I've encountered from the hostesses, to the bus boys, even the girl that brought out the dessert tray have been wonderful!), but as a representative of such a fine restaurant she should have kept a little closer eye on our drinks, and taken our orders in a more timely manner. The restaurant was nearly empty (we arrived around 8 for a late dinner, and it was a Tuesday night) so it certainly wasn't a matter of being overly busy. Still, I HIGHLY recommend you check out Salt Creek Grille. You won't be disappointed.
Great place

I haven't tried their seafood (ironically), but the turkey sandwich I had sure was great. Along with that, there's a nice woody beach ambiance, live music near the bar, and relaxed but helpful servers. A casual, but classy find.

Happy hour value meals are excellent, as are the wine prices. Favorite meeting place for after work decompression!

Classic American steaks and seafood in woodsy craftsman setting with fireplace patio. Popular for happy hour, weekend entertainment, wine list.
Restaurant in search of a view
by gremi
Or maybe it once had one. It's built as though it had one, and it certainly deserves to have one, but alas there's only a strip of ocean visible from one point within the restaurant.
I like this place. Service is young and attentive. They let you linger and don't make you feel rushed.
Food not only tastes good, it looks good, too. The wine list is quite decent as well.
Seabass was succulent and flavorful with a crunchy shallot crust and champagne sauce, served atop a mound of garlic mashed potatoes. Seared ahi was lovely and I especially liked the stir-fried cabbage accompaniment.
The only complaint I have about the place is the noise level inside-- if something could be done about that, the place would be perfect.
- Pros: Great outdoor dining, Attentive service
- Cons: , Noise level
Great Food!

The 16oz New York steak is better than any I ever eaten! It beats Ruth's Chris Steakhouse hands down. No steak sauce is needed. The steak is worth $32.00 My wife had a petite filet for $23.00 which was also good. Our friend Dorian had the Chicken Piccata which was absolutely a delite to your taste buds. The atmosphere is nice, but the open fire outside makes this place a winner. Dinner starts a 5:00pm, I recommend arriving at five or make a reservation! The glass wall allows you the option to watch the cook prepare your steak on your way to the bathroom. Order the chocolate dessert at the same time as your meal cuz it takes 25 minutes to make.
- Pros: Food, food, atmosphere
