Great place for good breakfast
by Jess Ripley
Plums in one of my fav's for breakfast. The food is great! There are so many unique choices to choose from. It's a little expensive but worth it. You get the amount of food for your money.
Yummy Breakfast
by em16
I went here for breakfast and it was so good. I go t the rasberry pancakes and they were the most amazing thing ever! My friends got the salmon hash and they were raving about how good that was (except for the bones in their fish). Only bad thing was it was a little expensive ($3 for a soda). I recommend this place.
- Pros: nice atmosphere, good food
- Cons: pricey, waiting for a table, bones in the fish
Very Classy and clean

my friends convinced me to meet them there. i came early and was impressed by the decor straight away. Service and food were good. I only came to hear later from people at work that this place was well known , and i found out my parents had even gone there. I will definetely be back
- Pros: Food was excellent
- Cons: Cant really think of one honestly
Best Breakfast in town!
by JimmyCamp
If you are ever in Costa Mesa you have to visit Plums cafe. I would recommend the eggs benedict or the steak and eggs. You also have to try the bacon and sausage some of the best I have ever had.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Expensive for Breakfast
My Favorite Breakfast Place
by andreaalexander
I love going to Plum's. I have to get the Smoked Salmon Hash everytime I go, sometimes a bloody mary, sometimes a latte, depending on how I feel. Plum's isn't the cheapest place to have breakfast, but it is the best. If you want to spend less than $10, reconsider and check out Del Taco's Morning Menu. For a party of two the bill usually comes out to be $35, not including tip. The service has always been quick and I have never had any complaints. I do take into consideration that they are always packed, especially on the weekends, so I know my food isn't going to come out 10 minutes after I have ordered it. Truly one of my favorites in Orange County, always a treat.
- Pros: Food, service, usually quick seating
- Cons: gets very busy,
great place for breakfast but expensive!
by epsiccardi
I had one of my best breakfast since I am here in CA. The Spinach, tomatoes and feta omelette was perfect. Usually I do not think feta is the best cheese for omelette because I like melt cheese but this time he feta was exquisitely soft and warm. The little red and yellow tomatoes linked perfectly with the rest and the thaste of the greek olives was genuines and authentics. I appreciated also the Plums potatoes.
The refill of the coffee was awful instead. It tasted as burned and I could not drink it.
The waiting time to be seated was not as long as it was the waiting for receiving the food. In that sense the service was really bad. A part from the service and the bill (too expensive!!) I really recommend this spot.
I didn't eat the Dutch pancake but I saw it and I gonna have it next time for sure!
Try a Dutch Baby
by jvuylsteke
It may take slightly longer but a traditional Dutch Baby is something not to miss out on at Plums. This pastry pancake is larger than the plate it comes on, but a treat you?re unlikely to find anywhere else. Inspired by flavors of the Pacific Northwest, their coconut French toast is also a must when had with an oversized mug of Seattle?s Best Coffee.
- Pros: They also do catering for business or residental events
- Cons: Its a popular weekend spot
Best Eggs Benedict & Apple Sausages!
by insun
Plums has the best eggs benedict, with their chipotle hollandaise, and their apple ketchup to go with their breakfast potatotes. Another recommendation is their creme brulee oatmeal- it is like eating dessert. I always get a side of their apple sausages and split that with my husband, and we always order the eggs benedict. I cannot comment on any other dish, as I always promise myself that I would get soemthing else, but cannot bring myself to forego the usual. The long wait on the weekends are worth it! TIP: Do not sit indoors- it is stuffy and crowded. Always eat in their outdoor patio- the beautiful morning sun, a cup of hot tea and a steaming egg breakfast cannot be beat!
- Pros: Best breakfast, similar to SF's haute dining, without the high prices
- Cons: Long wait for weekend breakfasts & crowded indoor dining area
OK food - not what I expected - somewhat overhyped

In our quest to find a breakfast spot to "call our own" - we decided to try Plums. Everyone we know said - "Oh - it's incredible". BEFORE we went there.
Now everyone says - "Oh - go there for the pumkin soup" or "Oh, don't order THAT!".
Unfortunately, we didn't see the Editorial Profile's mention of the french toast. They were dead on - it's NOT good. Then again - nor was the overpriced mound of "alderwood smoked salmon hash". In reality - a bunch of severly undercooked potatoes, peppers and onions, covered by a package of smoked salmon and some eggs with hollidaise sauce. You'd think that would be incredible. Think again.
My suggestion - go for lunch in November and have the pumpkin soup. EVERYONE seems to agree on it.
- Pros: Good coffee
- Cons: Not a good value
Use to be my favorite
by ylzcutie
what has happened to Plums!?!?! I use to go to brunch here every Sunday and would come for lunch all the time.. with family, friends and clients. I would still say the menu is above average.. but the food has gone down in quality. My eggs are runny now.. i only get one piece of toast now, you have to beg for ketchup, and my boyfriend ordered a the turkey avocado sandwich that came with no avocado! They use to have endless champagne brunch on the weekends for an added $5.. they took that away and limited it to 4.. now it is 1 mimosa for the discounted price of $5.. like that is a deal? I have basically stopped going here except is someone else wants to go.... the only positive thing now is that there is no longer an hour wait on weekends
