To all who have had the mis-fortune of being indebted to CPS: No matter how mean and nasty alll of these people at CPS are, I have had the final laugh. I was paying my over priced, high interest loan without issue for almost a year. I became unemployed unexpectedly and called to make some arrangement or at least communicate with them (that is what we are all told to do with creditors....just call them). The nasty "woman" on the other end prompted me to cut off all contact. I decided that I could not make the payment comfortably on unemployment. I had moved two times since I bought my car and wisely did not tell them! I also had the privilege of changing my identity. They are livid and desperate to find me now after 6 months. They have one reference that told them where to go and a huge list of false ones I had given them. They have run a background on me only to find VERY old information that is not useful. I do not live anywhere near my last known address so they will get the car when I am ready to return it. BOTTOM LINE: worst finance company ever. Their behavior is illegal and I may file suit just for fun. So remember: what goes around really does come back around .....eventually!

Pros: They will finance dead people

Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE

WHEN YOU SEE ANYTHING WITH THE NAME CONSUMER PORTFOLIO SERVICES OR CPS RUN! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICES DEPARTMENT NEEDS AN OVERHAUL AND THEY AREN'T THAT HELPFUL! THEY WILL NOT TAKE A CAR BACK THAT YOU CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO KEEP IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA, I LEARNED VIRGINIA IS A "GARNISHABLE STATE". I SEE THIS AS FORCING PEOPLE INTO MORE FINANCIAL DEBT! THERE GOAL IS TO MAKE AS MUCH MONEY OFF OF YOU BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE OR THEIR HARDSHIPS. I RECEIVED ONE PAYOFF PRICE FOR A VEHICLE I SOLD TO A CAR DEALERSHIP ONLY TO FIND THAT PRICE WAS JACKED UP A WEEK LATER. MY CREDIT SCORE MAY BE LOW AT THIS TIME BUT I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING WITH CPS'S ASSISTANCE, THEY ARE WAY MORE TROUBLE THAN IT'S WORTH. NO ONE APPEARS TO KNOW HOW THE BUSINESS IS RUN WITHIN THIS COMPANY AND I AM SPEAKING OF THEIR REPRESENTATIVES. DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Pros: You can get a car.

Cons: You will be stuck with a car, that has no car insurance, and you no longer have a drivers valid drivers license. They are very insensitive and I wish I had never heard about them!

If you can avoid it stay away from this company! After having bad financial problems they act like they are willing to help you get back on your feet. The people that work there are the rudest most nasty people I have ever worked with in my life. No one seems to know what they are doing there. The communication skills of this company are horrible. And they completely harass you if you are not even a month late with your payment leaving mean phone calls on your voicemail. I asked this company to stop calling my work because I can not receive personal phones calls at my job, they ignore your request and continue to call at work. I have had a lot of car loans but this is the only company I have worked with that is just flat out rude. I do not know how they get business at all. They prey on people's financial hardships to get your business and then their true business etiquette comes out. STAY AWAY THEY ARE A BAD COMPANY!

I was greatful at first for this company financing my husband and I 's first car while we were first starting out but now I realize we were pimped like call girls on a corner. Our interest rate was and is ridiculously high and the customer service of this company is in great need of a makeover. I have had to call 6 different offices to try and speak to someone about changing the due date of our payments and at last when I finally get to the right office low and behold it's a voice mail machine toleave a message that I probably won't even get a return call from. What a waste of time and money. All I have to say is run!!!!
