Great Healthy Food and Wine!
by Svarga
I Love to eat Healthy, so when I take a date out, I don't want to go out for steaks. Most of the health-food restaurants I know of are bohemian, and too casual. This place is high class, and delicious, gourmet raw food. I recommend it for romantic dates, business dinners, and anyone looking for a really exceptional dining experience.
- Pros: Wine Selection Ambiance
Best Experience Ever

118 Degrees is a very important vegan/raw restaurant in Southern California. The Chef is one of the most creative and passionate raw food advocate within the raw/vegan movement. The food is elaborately prepared and tediously detailed to preserve the freshness, quality, nutritional value of any restaurant i have been at.I highly recommend all vegans to dine at this one of a kind restaurant. And if you are not vegans, you will certainly entertain becoming one when you taste how delicious and healthy raw vegan food can be prepared. Besides the restaurant, Chef Jenny caters, teaches raw food cooking, lectures and has a book out on raw food and the preparation. The staff is totally dedicated and knowledgeable of not only the origins of all the food prepared and the nutritional value but also is well versed on the benefits of being a raw vegan and can answer any questions. I have been coming to 1198 Degrees since they opened and I am always greeted hospitably and as many times as I have been there, the presentation and taste of the food is always of the highest caliber. The decor is very hip, the music changes as to the preference of the staff and the cleanliness is as tediously attentive as each and every item on the menu. 118 Degrees is not just any restaurant, as son as you walk through the doors you will feel the tone and the pulse of the personality of the restaurant. When someone comes up to you and welcomes you into the restaurant, the really mean it. The vibes are genuine and the character is as fresh as the food. I am a native of Orange County and I am moving to San Francisco but my motivation to come back to Orange County will be the friends and family atmosphere you will experience at 118. The menu changes from time to time and the staff will accommodate all your nutritional and special needs. They have a brunch on Sunday that is secret until the morning of the brunch. The menu is a special creation of Chef Jenny and the staff and you will never forget dining on Sunday. Most people make 118 more regular than church. Dining at 118 is very inspirational and I am sure that you will feel the same way. OH YEA....The wines are special chosen by Chef Jenny and the executive staff and they search small wineries in California for vegan wines and amazing taste. Each wine has a special story behind it if you have time, after the staff entertains you with the history and nutritional value and the benefits of being raw, ask them about the wine!!!!!
- Pros: Price, Quality, Creativity
Nothing outstanding to a true rawfoodist
by cmcadotte
I've been eating raw foods for the last couple years and was absolutely ecstatic to see a new raw food restaurant opening in OC. However, perhaps because my standards in regards to raw foods restaurants is very high, I found this place to be average, at best. The food is somewhat generic in regards to what is is offered and their menu is rather limited in comparison to many places I have been. Lastly, the service was less than nice the last two times I visited.
New and Now

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They explained everything about the food and how it is cooked.. the whole meaning of 118 Degrees. The food is different and very, delicious. I love the concept and the fact that it is healthy and vegan. I have become much healthier since I've gone mostly vegetarian.
- Pros: Ambience, Service, Food
- Cons: It is the only 118 Degrees restaurant around!
YEAH FOR RAW FOOD!!!
by JeanneKay
This place is great!! I live 15 miles away and will drive to it, I love it so much. Also because raw food restaurants are just becoming more of a choice for dining out. The service here is great and personable too.
They have organic wines to boot!
Give it a try . . . worth it!
Definitely worth going to

I went there for the brunch on Sunday and for 20 or 22 dollars they serve 5 courses. The first was pineapple slices with a macadamia spread, and it was amazingly good. The second course was a very large spicy salad; far bigger than a normal appetizer salad you would get at any restaurant. The third course was a curry soup and it was delicious; by this point I was just about full but the fourth and 5th dishes, a banana crepe and cheesecake were so good I couldn't help but to finish them right then. I also got a few things to go; the baja burrito, mole enchiladas and the pizza. All were very good but definitely my favorite was the baja burrito. The food is obviously as healthy as it gets and I definitely will be going again.
- Pros: the healthiest food there is, tasty, leaves you feeling good about what you ate
Excellent Vegan Restaurant!
by Lusciousdee1
This was my first time at a vegan restaurant, and I loved it! I'm slowly trying to become a vegan, and this place proved how easy it is. You don't have to sacrifice taste to become a vegan. I had the "mole enchilada" and a "macadamia coconut "cookie for desert, yum ! And theservice was great.
Raw-diculous

My boyfriend and I ate at this place twice on our trip down the coast. We both highly recommend it. The vegan cheese is out of this world and all of the food makes you feel so good inside. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I lived closer to this great restaurant.
- Pros: delicious, gourmet food with excellent presentation
- Cons: a tad on the pricey side, but that should be expected
Friendly, clean, healthy, and very yummy!

118 Degrees has not only wonderful service, but great food. The server took the time to explain all of the healful qualities in the food I ordered and made great suggestions of other dishes for me to try. The food was very fresh and tasted wonderful. My husband, who is not a raw food/vegan food fan loved it as well. Highly recommended for anyone looking for wonderful food and friendly service!
- Pros: everything!
- Cons: park behind the building as parking at the Camp can be an issue
