We ate several meals at Lulus on a recent trip to Southern California. My eleven year old son and seven year old daughter loved the sandwiches, crepes and breakfast. My husband and I enjoyed delicious sand dabs and French onion soup one night and we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner there as well. The meal exceeded our expectations. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality and the service is friendly and efficient.

We are from Northern California and consider ourselves very discerning about food. I can tell you, we were totally BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the food at Lulu's Creperie Cafe!!! We are so grateful for the friends who recommended this restaurant to us during our stay. We must have eaten there daily during our recent trip. The crepes are some of the best we have ever had. We found out that the chef was one of the first to bring Brittany crepes to the West Coast over 30 years ago! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The variety and the quality of the meals are outstanding. The decor is lovely --- it makes you forget you are in the heart of Orange County and can easily imaging yourself in the middle of the French countryside!
Pros: Delicious Food
Cons: Hard to find

My co-workers suggested I try this restaurant, so I went there this wek-end. It was lovely! I do not know how to describe the beautiful patio area. It has wisteria from the ceiling, hanging plants, fresh flowers on all the tables --- and is decorated right now for fall with colored leaves, etc. That is just the decor. Now for the food.... I had one of the crepes since I was told this was a specialty and my husband had the "American Breakfast" (yes, he can be boring!!!) Both were delicious (we shared)! The crepe was different from any other crepe you will ever try. The owner explained that it was made on a "Brittany crepe grill". It was large, very tender, and folded into quarters --- and covered with the most delicious sauce you will ever eat! Wow! I sat next to a lady who says she now comes there EVERY DAY for breakfast, and has now forgotten how to cook!!! My husband's breakfast consisted of large FLUFFY pancakes, the best sausage I have ever tasted, home fries, and 2 poached eggs (you can get the eggs anyway you like!). I think I will join the ranks of others at this restaurant and forget how to cook so we can come more often!!! This is a family-owned restaurant where they take the time to get to know you --- what a charmer!
Pros: Great Food, Charming Decor, Great Service
Cons: You might forget how to cook like some of their other patrons!

My husband and I heard through the grapevine that Lulu Cafe offers wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch menu so we decided to try it out. The first time we came was 2 weeks ago and had a good first impression of the place and the service it offered. So we came back again to try out different items just last weekend and were sat down at the outside patio table. As I was settling down on my seat and laying out the napkins on my laps, the corner of my eyes notice a moving 'little thing' against the wall under our table. Not in my dream I would have guessed that 'little thing' that was moving and nibbling was a 'TINY VERSION OF MickeyMouse'! Yes, you read it right! I'm not sure how important this piece of information sounds to you, but I know for sure I will never come back there again. Even though the staffs were trying to 'trap the creature' and assured us that because the seats were on the outside patio instead of being inside, it does not make it right for us as customers to see such things in an environment where sanitation should be the main concern. Also, the French door to the outside patio is always wide open, there is a great chance that there would be more than 1 of those creatures could be running around and get inside and who knows, perhaps in the kitchen. Anyhow, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, unless you don't mind to run in an uninvited guest like I did!
Cons: need i say more?

Lulu's has one of the best atmospheres of any cafe around! During the day, it is light and cheery, and the patio is perfect in all kinds of weather. We have been dining here for years, not only for the warm smiles and 'Bon Jour' that greet us, but also for the delicious and unique cuisine. While we enjoy indulging in the heavenly croissants, scrumptious crepes and amazing dinners, my frequent requirements for low-cal meals are easy to accommodate. Lulu's is a very special place, an oasis from the chain restaurants and predictable menus that have invaded the world of dining. For a meal at least, we feel that we're in Europe . . . tasty food, unhurried atmosphere, comfortable decor . . . nothing 'cookie-cutter' here! And if you come frequently, as we do, you'll soon find that you're one of the many 'regulars' who are blessed to feel at home here.
Pros: Very friendly, bright & pretty, delicious food
Cons: None

I am a regular at Lulu's Cafe and I eat breakfast or lunch there several times per week. I simply love the Eggs Benedict and the Pain Perdu --- and I have recently added their wonderful crepes to my list of favorites!. They have a wide variety of both savory and sweet crepes that are simply scrumptous. The food would be enough to keep me coming back. However --- add to that the wonderful ambiance. The decor is LOVELY, and the atmosphere is like a "home away from home". If you remember the old TV Series, "Cheers" where "everyone knowns your name" --- that would describe Lulu's Cafe! However, instead of a bar, it is a quaint French restaurant. I hesitated at writing this --- because I do not want them to become too popular --- those of us who are regulars like having them all to ourselves! However, I guess it is time to share our wonderful little secret with the rest of Orange County!
Pros: The atmosphere --- A French "Cheers"
Cons: Cons? None for me!

We also read about Lulu's Cafe on Citysearch, and decided to try it late one Sunday evening. Even though we arrived near closing --- and were also young and wanted only an inexpensive meal --- we were treated like their most important guests! We had a wonderful time --- both food and service. We ordered the Cajun and Francaise crepes --- and they were the best we have had anywhere! We were also offered tastes of French cider and pastries by the owners. Since we wanted to sit and talk awhile, the owners stayed open for us. We talked with the owners and found they only have had the restaurant for 3 months, and are doing great things there. They are seeing continually increasing business --- and going through "growing pains" as they described it. We will definitely become one of their "new regulars"!
Pros: Food and service --- a French version of "Cheers"
Cons: None!!!

We read great reviews about this restaurant and decided to try it for ourselves. We were seated right away but had to wait 20 mins to receive our menus. We noticed that the other middle-aged waitress had refused to even acknowledge us as she seemed to be more interested in helping out a 6-top table of middle aged group wine drinkers and etc vs helping out the rest of the crowd forcing the other waitress to single handle the entire restaurant herself causing the service to be extremely slow. We were there for another hour waiting for our food to arrive to where we finally asked for the food to go. We ordered the crepes and they were horrible, too salty, and not full of flavor. We were dissapointed by the service and the quality of the meal and it was really pricy for what it was. We also feel as though that middle-aged waitress had judged us immediately because we appear to be young and maybe have no money per say. We are regular customers of Taste of France in Huntington Beach where a wonderful meal is about 6 dollars average, the customer service is wonderful there, they occasionally give out free pastries and desserts to customers on their way out; the quiche, pastries, and crepes are also very flavorful. I would recommend this restaurant over Lulu's easily.
Pros: Good bread
Cons: Service, food, location

This is the place to enjoy fabulous food at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is tucked away in a small mini mall area. Once you walk in you feel like you are in Paris. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and charming. Don't let the name fool you; this restaurant has a large variety of menu options. The service is A+-- I was treated like royalty. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch Tuesday-Sunday and dinner during the weekends. I began my dinner experience with an excellent salad and soup. My main entree was the filet mignon (Wow). I would compare it to a Ruth Chris Steak House. To end the meal I had an unbelievable fruit crepe with fresh raspberries and strawberries. What a fantastic dining experience it was. I hope to come back to this restaurant soon. My advise to anyone is you better go now and enjoy or later you will be waiting for a table.
Pros: Food/Value/Service
Cons: A little Hard to Find

This restaurant is a gem --- the crepes are the best I have tasted in Orange County. The week-end dinners feature excellent French cuisine at very affordable prices. Some of my favorites include the Sand Dabs in Lemon Caper Sauce, Scallops Pernod, and the Coq au Vin. The wines are excellent and very reasonably priced.. I would highly recommend it.
Pros: The food -- the food --- the food
Cons: None I could find
