I went to Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana point to a cocktail with my former wife during sunset time. When we got there were were no seat available in the lounge so,... what to do!!! we saw the sigh of the VUE restaurant and we decide to check it out. We were greated by the hostess who asked us if we wanted to have dinner on the Patio (Beautifull). We decided to stay at the bar since the restaturant look a little busy (of corse... with the sunset!!) . Thus we staied at the bar and i have to say it was a fun evening. Their bartender is a fun, professional fellow and made us excellent Mai Tai.. We had Beef Sate, Saffron shrimp and a large califonia artisan cheese plate appetizer and they were unbelievably Good. Next time I'll take my girlfriend for dinner because I was amazed by the quality of the food and friendliness of the bartender. I highly recommend the VUE Bar for their cocktails and appetizer and for the Bartender (Mike)
Pros: made me feel very comfortable
Cons: The Lounge was BUSY

I stayed in the Laguna Cliffs Marriott hotel with my wife, celebrating our anniversary. We decided to go for dinner in Laguna Beach but when I asked the concierge for raccomandations she pointed out the VUE Restaurant. I have to say it was the best meal and service we ever recieved. The hostess was able to welcome us as we were walking down the stairs and whishing us happy anniversary right there(WOW!!!!!!!!!) The server was very attentive and reccomended us a great wine (Trimbac Riesling, From France)with our meal (Wild Fiji Ahi Salad and Pan Seared Chilean Seabass). She also took the lable off the bottle and gave to us with a nice card wishing us an happy anniversary day!!! One surprise after an other. I definatly reccomand the VUE restaurant to anyone!!!!! I WAS ABLE TO IMPRESS MY WIFE ONE MORE TIME.
Pros: Service, Quality of food, They also had a Private Function in the Private Dining room which was good for the laud group in there!!!!
Cons: It was raining.

What a great relaunch of an Orange County staple. We came back to visit Dana Point and checked out the new Vue at the Mariott Laguna Cliffs. They've totally redone the restaurant with a great new outdoor patio with firepit and heated floor. It was the perfect California night, enjoying the outdoor appeal of the view and fresh air with all the convenience and luxury of hotel dining. And the food is great too. Make sure to try the grilled lamb with risotto, it was utterly decadent. My husband had the surf and turf, and his filet was big and cooked perfect (nice and rare). We went on a Thursday, and they had 1/2 off almost their entire wine list, so the night was a bargain to boot. If your visiting California, or even a local, I encourage you to check out the Vue. It's a rare gem in the area.
Pros: Great view, Great food, and a Great Deal.
Cons: I don't live in California.
