Went to this restaurant with another couple. Met there. Food was great but service was not. Waitress was very green and not trained in fine dining. Atmosphere was wonderful. Filet Mignon was overcooked and waitress didn't know how to deal with it. Got owner involved and they were not helpful, friendly or willing to make it right. So disappointed because the food that did come out correct was excellent! Won't be back again, sorry to say. If they had made it right we would have been customers for life!

My wife and I took the train down from L.A., to dine here for our fifth anniversary. We were not disappointed. Everything was so tasty and FRESH. The mussels were the best we've ever had and we know mussels(perfectly seasoned, not overly cooked). The lobster special was very fresh and my wife loved the gnocchi (she's not a fan of gnocchi). The crispy salmon was pleasantly crispy and well balanced with the middle eastern flavors. My wife is in the culinary business herself, serving gourmet cuisine to high end clients, and she couldn't stop raving about Rendezvous on our way back to L.A. Our server Melissa was attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable, but was not a know-it all nor overbearing. And as she said, you can't go wrong no matter what you order. We'd go back just for the mussels. Every dining room is beautifully decorated. A wonderful dining experience.
Pros: Food, ambience, service
Cons: None...had to leave sometime

We really enjoyed the train room at this place. The desserts were good but the menu was very fancy.......lots of French type of foods. We would go back!!

Rendezvous is the sort of classy, up-scale restaurant that Orange County has been missing. Its beautiful ambiance coupled with its amazing, innovative, seasonal cuisine, makes it the perfect night out. It caters to both the "foodie" crowd with it's well executed items and sensational meshing of tastes as well as to the diner who may not be used to fine dining, offering simple, but exquisite items like Kobe beef sliders that are sure to appease any palette. The service is not to be outdone, either, with a knowledgeable but unobtrusive staff. 10/10...and that's hard to do!
Pros: Staff, Seasonal Menu (so the food's at its peak!), Talented Chef who's adaptable and willing to try anything!
Cons: Sometimes your favorite has gone for the season! (But just ask if the chef will prepare it for you ;) )

We recently went and had dessert as a late night snack on a Sat. Evening. The wait staff was pleaseant, but not overly agressive. We sat in the dining car, which makes for a cute date night. The soufle' was amazing, and served in a very unique way and would have to rate as one of the top desserts in the OC. We would also, say that the goat cheese cheesecake was one of the best cheesecake's on this coast. If you are looking for a great place with even better ambience, complemented by amazing food, check this place out.
