I tried this dental office just because I needed one closer to my home. The office is beautiful and has all of the latest equipment (red flag #1). The staff was gushy friendly as if you were their new best friend (red flag #2). After X-rays and a very short examination the dentist pronounced that I needed a deep cleaning (invasive & very expensive) and all of my old fillings replaced right away as they were worn and deteriorated and would cause decay. All of my fillings just had to have porcelain overlays (also very expensive). Then I was "counseled" by their "treatment coordinator" who explained with very fast talk what was involved and how much it would cost me. The cost was glossed over as being ONLY a small monthly payment with no interest for a year and after that I could just put it on my credit card and transfer it to a no interest deal every time the current deal ended! The longer I listened the madder and more suspicious I got. The whole process reminded me of car sales tactics. They made a big deal about their fresh baked cookies as I left (cookies in a dental office!!). UNBELIEVABLY a bouquet of flowers from a florist was delivered the next day thanking me for becoming their patient (MAJOR MAJOR red flag and WAY over the top)! When I tried to make an appointment for just a regular cleaning I was told that the dentist might not do a regular cleaning after recommending a deep cleaning and that they didn't have any dental hygienists (red flag #?!). Instead I went back to my old dental office for a regular cleaning and consulted with my previous dentist. He said he was embarrassed for the dental profession. I didn't need any of the treatments they said I did and in fact, messing with old fillings can cause the teeth to break. There are measurements to go by (pocket depth) to decide if deep cleaning is necessary. My measurements aren't even close. This office practices a VERY HARD sell and is completely untrustworthy and unprofessional.

Pros: Fancy office.

Cons: Untrustworthy.

I had a filling that had fallen out and it had been 2 years since my last cleaning. Since I'm a Talega resident I chose Talega dental. Last time I had a filling and a cleaning I paid nothing at my time of visit other than my deductible. Then I would receive a bill from the dentist for what ever insurance didn't cover usually about $100.00. Not today!!! Apparently fillings no longer exist you must get porcelain and insurance doesn't cover this procedure. I also found out that insurance will not cover "a deep cleaning" although after talking to metlife they will cover 1 a year. So I had to pay $650 dollars at todays visit. Make sure you bring your credit card because they do not take checks. Other then the bill being ridiculous and me getting railroaded the staff is nice. Except for the lady that they send in before any work is performed to make sure you understand your insurance is not good here.

     Contrary to all the above, I came to this website to file a perfectly satisfactory report with Dr. Mozafari and his office, Talega Dental. There were many good points I was happy to find in this office than many other offices I have attended in the past.      Firstly, right when you walk into the office, you don't get that "Oh no I'm going to the Dreaded-Dentist's" feeling that you usually will get when you walk into a standard Dentistry. From the moment I walked through those doors I felt like I was in my own home. Not only was the waiting room comfortable for me and my kids, but the staff at the front desk were helpful and kind. I was extremely happy with the service at the front; everyone was so... helpful. I received more attention from the staff than I have from any other Dental Office.      I had to have a lot of work done on my teeth, it turned out. Yet the price of the procedures and how much my insurance covered did not surprise me. The cost of this office was no different, believe me: I have been to many other offices that charge more for the same treatment. In the end it was worth it.      In the end, my teeth were in marvelous shape and my smile was more beautiful than it had ever been. Thank you, Talega! You have done wonders. And, to future people looking for a new Dental Office in San Clemente , take it from me, this is a wonderful and successful office. I highly suggest taking your next trip to Talega Dental Group.

Pros: Friendly staff, experienced dentists, clean & comfortable interior

Cons: have free cookies. :(

If you enjoy spending a lot of money for pain...this is the place for you. They pulled a tooth on my minor child without telling me and without any numbing gel. They prepared a new crown that looked more like a blob of gum rather than a tooth. I had repay another dentist to fix their mistake. I immediately wrote them a letter explaining my experience at their office and did not receive any reply. However, I did receive a letter telling me that they would not reimburse me for the crown I had to replace. They have assistants doing work that typically dentists do. The only nice thing about this place is the office facility. Unfortunately, the pleasantness of the front office is only a "cover" for it being a dental mill. I am sharing my story so that others will not have to endure the torture I went through. If you value your teeth, STAY AWAY!

Pros: Nice looking office and convenient location

Cons: Dental work subpar. If nothing wrong with your teeth, don't worry they'll create some

My company switched our ins. carrier two years ago. My whole family was assigned to several different dentists where I could bore you with different nightmare stories one after another. One of my coworkers recommended Talega Dental Group in San Clemente. Today was my fourth visit to this office. I have never been happier in my life with any other dentist. Both my wife and I are fanatic about our teeth and we're so glad to have found a family dental office which we trust.

Pros: fees and caring attitude

Cons: haven't found anything yet

I haven't been to a dentist in a long time and found Talega Dental. They were very professional and were able to clean my teeth so they will look nice for an upcoming vacation, where I plan to take a lot of pictures. Thanks.

I hate going to a dentist, which is why I ended up with toothache. Today at Tallega Dental I found an office I feel comfortable in, with people who made the experience almost a joy! Everyone was friendly and happy, thoughtful and kind, and best of all, very competent. They seem to do all options in dentistry and have all the latest high-tech equipment and patient-friendly techniques. I highly recommend them. In future I will not fear my dental appointments.
