The owners threw in the towel or something and the place was left full of raw meat and dirty dishes! The whole building smells now!

LIVE ... LOVE ... EAT!!!

Just happened to be driving by and wanted to experience good ethnic food. Having lived in New York City, I was familiar with "Vietnamese noodle restaurants". I made the right choice to stop and have something to eat and reenergize -- quoting Wolfgang Puck ... "LIVE-LAUGH-EAT"!
If the service was fantastic the food was outstanding! My family and I sampled several dishes ... the food was prepared meticulous and to our specifications ... a little heat and no onions (I have an onion family allergy.) We had the Sakken Beef (my favorite - filet mignon with rice accented with a lime/salt/black pepper rub for dipping), Pho beef soup with fresh basil, sprouts and of course the noodles, salted prawns over fresh cabbage and a refreshing drizzle, finally the grilled beef with vermicelli noodles.
Dine in side in the main dining room or al fresco ... YOU WILL BE COMFORTABLE!!
We highly recommend Pho Republic. It is now on our personal Zagat restaurant list for dining in and around Anaheim and Orange County California.
"LIVE-LAUGH-EAT"!
- Pros: Attentive wait staff; meal and dishes prepared to avoid my food allergies
PF Changs of Vietnamese Pho houses/restaurants
by crt at Citysearch
Pho Republic (PR) seems more concerned with ambieance rather than serving up well proportioned more 'traditional' Vietnamese dishes like in those Pho 'noodle soup houses'. And that's the price you pay. I will admit I have enjoyed the food at PR. It is made fresh and prepared to order. But, to me, it's like the PF Changs of Veitnamese restaurants. Sorry, but I like 'tradtional' when it comes to international/foriegn foods. And living in Orange County, believe me, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for great tasting well propotioned traditional foods when choosing a Vietnamese restaurant. I highly recommend Pho Nam Dinh in Garden Grove at the south east corner of Harbor & Garden Grove Blvd (in the 'strip' of buildings just north of Mervyn's). Search Pho Nam Dinh for my review.
- Pros: Food is fresh, Nice banquet room, Good drinks
- Cons: Pricey, Small portions, Service a bit slow

Being Vietnamese, I know what Vietnamese food should taste like. I found the food a bit salty. On the taste side, it is so so. I would not care to return. A good place to bring non-Vietnamese friends, because there are very few Vietnamese restaurants that have American service standard and decor. Overall it is okay.
- Pros: Decent Service, Value
- Cons: salty food
great services

took my friend there last night to try it out the first time after reading all the recommended reviews of this place
we got there kind of late, and turned out to be the last pair of customers, but they never rushed us, just came back couple of times to do refill
definitely go back again with more friends
recommend the wrap
- Pros: service, food, price

Spacious, tranquil Vietnamese eatery in downtown Anaheim; choose from noodle bowls, spring rolls and 10 types of pho. Outdoor patio.
Great restaurant, great discovery!

I took my girl friend to Pho Republic last weekend. While I had had Vietnamese food a couple times, it was the first experience for my girlfriend.
We had such a great experience with Pho Republic that we have since added it to our favorite restaurant list, and added Vietnamese food to our Asian food list. We ordered the Appetizer Platter, a bowl of their Pho Soup, and the Saigon Wrap for 2. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. Both the Peanut Sauce (for Spring Rolls) and the Tamarind Sauce (for Saigon Wrap) was so good, my girl friend asked for some extra sauce to take home.
Besides food quality, we also like their food presentation, attentive service and the restaurant's interior decorations. And last but not least, we got great value.
Don't forget to order their home-made Coconut Ice-Cream. It's the best I have tasted so far!
- Pros: Great food, Great ambience, Great value
One of the Best

As an Asian cuisine enthusiast, I am very familiar with Vietnamese cuisine and been to many Vietnamese restaurants including each and every other ones listed in this City Search
but Pho Republic offers the high level of richness, authenticity and even value in all 3 important facets of a quality restaurant: cultured ambiance, tasteful food and great service - unexpectedly. Unlike many other pricy & pretentious Asian restaurants, they offer such pricy dining pleasure without the pricy tab. I must also note that Vietnamese cuisine is indeed far far superior in many aspects than every other Asian cookings incl Japanese, Chinese, Korean or Thai. It is well worth to eat again and again. I'd give them a 10!
- Pros: food, atmosphere, service
Best Vietnamese restaurant in Orange, Ca
by sueann at Citysearch
Pho Republic offer the best dining experience I ever had in any Vietnamese restaurants thus far. I love Vietnamese food but normally order the food to go because few Vietnamese restaurants offer a comfortable and relaxing ambience.
Everything about Pho Republic is great. The food, food presentation, the music, the service and interior design. My friend, who is a PHO addict claims that he has had Pho that good outside of Vietnam. I love the Chicken Lettuce Wrap, and the Vermicelli Bowl with grilled Shimps. We both feel that we got great values for what they offer.
If all Vietnamese restaurants are this good, Vietnamese food will become popular very quickly!
- Pros: Food quality, Reasonable price, Godd ambience
Great non-Disney restaurant near Disney
by siskbc at Citysearch
While at a conference in the land of phony, roughly a mile or two from Disneyland, we were lucky to find Pho Republic. The menu is large, the service is prompt, the ambience is quite pleasant, and prices quite reasonable, approximately $7 for rice and noodle dishes, and $3-5 for appetizers. I went with a group of 5 people, and everyone loved what they got. As the Disney area is a culinary nightmare and Pho Republic was a great experience, we went back the next two nights as well!
As would be expected, vegetarian dishes were available, but I, a carnivore, ordered one because it was exceptional. Tofu is thin and fried to a perfect texture. Pho Republic does serve wine and beer as well. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend it highly - both given its overall quality, and given value, particularly in the Disney area.
- Pros: Great food, Beer and wine, Good value
