Vogue Salon has the perfect balance of being a hip fun salon, but with the added benefit of offering stylist with substance, talent and an overall friendly atmosphere. As a local client, a salon in a "hotel" was not an obvious first choice, but through word of mouth I made an appointment and four years later I've never looked back. They are extremely flexible and try their best to fit their clients in, provide the latest in hair care from Kerastase and offer complimentary wine...need I say more...:) Wether you are visiting Orange County or live in the area, I highly recommend Vogue Salon. I must say, I love all the stylist, as each have their own unique attributes. You can't go wrong with any of them. They also have a wonderful mani/pedi lady who does a great job of custom making a color for your skin type and when you're short on time, she happily will do your nails (the whole enchilada with soaking, massage etc.) while your getting your hair done (I speak from experience). They also have a gal there that does an amazing job with make-up and what's even better is that she does make up lessons, which I recently took advantage of. When we were all done, she wrote everything down, including instructions on how to do it at home, all on a face chart. I knew she was the real deal when she didn't try to sell me just the products the salon carries (although I do like Colorscience and did end of wanting to buy their powder and a few other things). After you're all dolled up, you can stroll into the Lobby Bar or move onto the balcony with the gorgeous Pacific Ocean ahead of you. The raspberry mojito is my favorite! Everytime I get my hair done, it's like a mini vacation and I'm usually out of there within an hour or so...or you can choose to linger longer, if you so desire.
Pros: valet, great front desk service, excellent stylists, convenience of proximity of Spa Guacin and St. Regis hotel
Cons: not all stylist work everyday, so you have to plan ahead if you want a particular stylist. Also, could be open later.
