this place went down hill

we use to come to this restaurant at least 2 times a month for over the past 3 years. a couple of weeks ago we experienced the worst service ever conducted by a so called manager, we were served our drinks after waiting 15 minutes, the glass that my buddy used was filthy and had like gravy stains, we asked to speak to a manager like you would any other reasonable establishment, they took away our glass but the manager who was drinking and looked tipsy didnt bother to come to our table, which set off my friend since he works for a restaurant, the manager decided to leave the place and put a waiter in charge, they wanted to charge us for 3 regurlar meals while we only had two pieces of meat the lady said that we were at the table for 30 mins but we told her that we didnt get served meat until like our 25th minute, now the bartender and one of the waiter recognized us and said that we were good customer, we had never had a complain about this place. it was the worst service and didnt want to resolve our issue that all could have been avoided by the manager apologizing about the cup and not charging us for my friends meal or some sort of compensation. i went to amazon hungry and left hungry, the bartender and waiter who were kind through out our whole ordeal where apologetic and told us to come back, but we had decided our minds. since then we have found a new brazilian bbq and its greenfield in long beach, great place and amazing atmosphere and the salad bar is amazing, the cheese-balls are great too, i recommend going there instead of amazon.

What an experience

I visited Amazon last night and came away very impressed. the amosphere is alive, the decor is beautiful, as if in a rain forest. the service was outstanding, and the salad bar was good. I don't drink but I could tell the bartender was good 'cause he was busy and engaging with his customers. the staff are very curtious and the meat just kept coming, Rib eye, pork sausage, spare ribs, garlic steak, flank steak, cabobs, etc. All were cooked to near perfection. My favorite had to be the rib eye and the flank steak, they were outstanding. The servers are very attentive and never let more than five or six minutes go by without checking in. there is plenty of parking (it sits in a huge mall) and it's right off of the freeway. As McCarthur said, "I shall return".

Less than mediocre

This place is ok if you appreciate quantity over quality. The meats were a little on the dry side, with very little flavor except an excess of salt. The buffet items were semi-decent, but not at all worth returning for. I ordered flan, which was completely drowned in a thick goop that did not much resemble the usual caramel sauce.

Over-priced and overrated.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER - DO NOT GO HERE

My 2 friends and I were regulars at this restaurant but never have we been so displeased and disgusted by what happened Saturday (1/21/08) night. After we were seated, no one approached us regarding drinks. I had to get out of my seat and ask a busboy to place our orders for drinks and even then our drinks did not come out until atleast 10 minutes after we reminded him to let our waiter know. Refills....well lets just say that we were thirsty for the rest of our time there. The meat service left much to be desired. While it was somewhat "busy", I dont think it would be reason or good business to bring out the same cut of meat 6 times! The more I asked for certain cuts of meat....the more skirt steak we were brought. It all honesty it seemed like the restaurant had ran out of every other cut of meat besides skirt steak. When I would ask the server about picanha, he made it seem like I was pestering him and just kept saying "itll be out soon" or "3 minutes". Taking into the account the lack of food, drinks, and service; the three of us decided to pay our tab without even being the least bit satisfied. We used to frequent this establishment 1-2 times a month but we will now seek other restaurants that appreciate our business.

Great Brazilian BBQ for the pirce!

Compared to other Brazilian bbq places in OC this place does a very fine job. First of all prices are lowest compared to to the other ones. Atmosphere is very nice and is open early and closes late. The buffet was the best out of all of them, they had more variety, however the meat was not as as good as the other ones. For example many of the meats were dry compared the the same meats i had at the other Brazilian bbq places and sometimes they did not season it with enough salt. But paying about $16 for lunch i did not expect it to be perfect compared to places where they are double the price. However i would say amazon is the best for its price for brazilian food.

Hearty meats and tempting side dishes!

I recently went here for the first time and was impressed with the quality preparation of the meats, ranging from skirt steak to alligator. The buffet, providing side dishes, soups and salads was huge and offered a great variety of South American dishes. Great atmosphere---very tropical, fountains and soft candles. Highly recommended.

Great for all occasions!

I love this place. I can go with my buddies to just grub the all-you-can-eat meats and buffet. The quality of the meat is excellent. The flank steak is my favorite. They also have a nice variety of sides, deserts, and soups at the buffet, even sushi. Its also an awesome place for a date. The decor, ambience, and service are top notch. But even more important, its a fun place because the waiters come around with different types of meats, some of which are pretty exotic (like alligator, rabbit) and you can have a shared experience trying weird things. Definitely a refreshing change of pace from the common sit and dine. Prices are reasonable too!

I loved the whole experience. Loved the BBQ food. Loved the atmosphere. The service was supurb. Very clean set-up. Reasonably priced for the quality of the steak you get. Definately will be back!!!

Meat Meat and More Meat

Had a fun night here with my boyfriend, he loved it! I prefer a lighter meal, but hey I'm a girl, it's only natural ... they have a huge buffet with everything that you might want with your meat like vegatables, shellfish, and starches ... but save room for the meat because they have everthing like rabbit and alligator ... the chicken, beef ribs, duck and lamb were my favorites ... the service was remarkable and the price is not bad for a meat buffet!
