They take the time to teach children that martial arts is not just about kicks a punches but respect and responsibility in everyday life. They are taught the importance of taking care of their bodies, to helping at home, to respect towards adults. On top of that, my child really enjoys going to classes and learning something positive.

"My daughter and I are both taking taekwondo and we really enjoy it. There are separate classes for adults for me and separate classes for children for my daughter. There is even a family class for both of us can take together. Tae kwon do has been very beneficial for us. It helps us to keep in shape but it also helps us teach the kids discipline and that they need to work hard for the things that they want. My daughter is really motivated to become better in all aspect of her life!" N. Wagg

My daughter has been attending here for a while now and this place have the best staff. Instructor Nicholas is very nice and Master Hwang is very motivational. Instructor Ashley is really great with kids and my daughter especially likes her. My daughter is now looking up to Instructor Ashley and its great she has a role model that is so positive. My daughter listens better now and she realizes the importance of the life skills taught here.

My son tried out other studios in the area and this studio is the best in Irvine. My son is highly motivated by the instructors and really look up to them. I like how they focus on his child development. He learned about the importance of listening and respect before they taught him to kick and block. In fact, all the kids in this studio know about how important it is to listen and my son is doing better at home because of it.

My friends and I have had bloody experience with this school. In order to get your kids enrolled in this school, you have to sign a contract with them and you have to provide them with a credit card or a bank account. Once you sign the contract, then your credit card or bank account will be abused by this group of greedy and nasty people. This school offers very mediocre classes from my own experience and through multiple discussions with my Korean colleagues. Further more this school likes to fraud the customers such as they always advertise their school with the picture of so-called grand master Hong, but grand master Hong never appears in the class and most of their instructors are just very low profile tae kwon do practitioners. So for any reason you can not fulfill the contract such as your kids do not like the school or the lessons or if you have to move to a different city and if you decline to pay the remaining balances on your contract (one parent was asked to pay over $3000 to terminate her 3-year contract), then they will go after you in very nasty ways. First they will try to charge your cards or bank accounts monthly even after your kids drop out of school. And if you close your credit card or bank account, then they will ask a very nasty billing company to get your SSNs (even though you do not provide your SSN on your contract) and set up multiple installments accounts under your SSNs and will keep sending you the bills. And if you ignore the bills, then this nasty collection agency will include this in your credit report and your credit score will drop at least 100 points due to this. Be very careful with this school and I am telling you this from my bloody experience with this nasty school.

Cons: full of customer frauds

I enrolled my daughter over a year ago and I'm very happy with world taekwondo center. The staff is great with kids and my daughter really enjoys the taekwondo classes. This really helped my daughter with her confidence.

My name is James Young and I've trained at the World Tae Kwon Do Center personally. This is a great taekwondo school under the guidance of a legitimate Master Instructor. I received my Black Belt in San Francisco years ago, so I know what a true taekwondo school should be like. Classes are challenging with traditional curriculum and solid foundation of techniques. If your looking for a martial art school whether your a beginner or advance belt, this place is it. Only down thing for me is that I have to move back to San Fran for work that I won't be able to continue here. I'm so impressed with Master Hong that I will personally recommend it. Email me at jameskingyoung@yahoo.

Pros: program

Cons: parking

My bad experience: My son enrolled March 2007. Mr. Hong trapped me into the auto-CC billing by promising me that he would not charge me as long as I inform him before dropping out of the class and implied that he would refund if necessary. With good faith in Mr. Hong, I signed the contract for 6 month. Many times they would let some senior students act as the instructors whom I believe are not qualified to be the instructors. And it also happened many times the supposed 45min sessions were cut into only about 20-30 min sessions. A few times their door was shut while many parents and kids were waiting outside and eventually had to drive home. Afterwards we got no email updates or sorry notes. Then on 07/24/07, I went to Mr. Hong's office to inform him that my son would drop out of it and asked him to stop the CC charge. Then Mr. Hong showed his real face: 1. I had to inform him at least 2 weeks before the due charge. However Mr. Hong never mentioned anything about the 2 weeks notice and also nowhere on the contract it stated 2 weeks notice. 2. I offered him $30 penalty due to the late notice and asked him to refund me the $100. He told me that he would never refund anybody under any circumstance. We had some very heated arguments. Then I decided to let my son go back to the class for a few more sessions to get the money's value. However this guy called police to talk to me. And the police told me that he has the right to refuse me and my son in the class and I have the right to go to the court to claim my money back. In order not to waste too much time and also due to my family vacation coming up, I decided to let it go. But I asked the police to obtain a copy of contract cancellation for me. Then I noticed that they tried to charge my card again on 08/25. I am now talking to a lawyer. And if you have any terrible experience with them, please email diaqqqq at yahoo, as my lawyer wants a class action against Mr. Hong.

Pros: Instructor Ashley is very good

Cons: Only cares about money

both of my kids have been going here for past year. having seen other places, this is by far the best taekwondo studio in the area. the staff is motivated and very friendly. they know how to handle the kids. master hong gives great direction and guidance. I immediately saw the difference and the postive effects my kids received from learning taekwondo. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in starting their kids into taekwondo.

Pros: the instructors

Cons: none

Although class sizes may be large, the instruction is excellent. This is more geared toward children, but the adult classes are small to moderate size and the instruction is excellent. My son and I have attended classes now for about a year and there is a marked improvement in his self confidence, self control and discipline. I have benefitted in a variety of ways and feel ten years younger than I did when I first started and have lost 35 pounds. I have met Grand Master Won Ki Hong on multiple occasions and am impressed with the direction he gives his masters.

Pros: Great instruction, Private lessons avail, Multiple start times

Cons: Parking
