I like coming to Downtown Disney for a nice walk and to enjoy some snacks or food...although it is quite a drive, I like going to the candy store, can't remember its name, but I load up on chocolate covered strawberries....walk into Sephora to check out the latest additions to the beauty scene and walk to Wetzel's Pretzels and buy me a slushie..they have many flavors to choose from...and buy the pizza pretzel...sooo good...its a great place to get away for awhile...the best thing is that parking is free! and its never so packed when i go...

CityWalk, eat your heart out--Disney's mock neighborhood rents to some high-profile tenants.

The Scene
There's nothing Mickey Mouse about this half-mile entertainment district loaded with major players. Anchored by an AMC 12-screen megaplex and the Orange County outpost of the House of Blues, the squeaky-clean pedestrian walkway sits just outside Disneyland and California Adventure. During busy summers, everyone from international tourists to local punks checking out a concert can be found roaming the grounds.

The Goods
The Patina group expands its holdings with Catal, an upscale Mediterranean that might lure curious Angelenos behind the Orange Curtain. ESPN Zone, a behemoth three-in-one restaurant/sports bar/game center, holds court at one end of the street. Other dining options include an Indiana Jones-styled Rainforest Cafe and the New Orleans-inspired Jazz Kitchen. Shops like Sephora, Petals and Illuminations will appeal to locals, though most are aimed at out-of-towners (including the planet's second largest World of Disney store).

downtown disney

by theodorichuang

a place to browse with an espn zone location. the only espn zone location in southern california. espn zone is the right place to visit for a sports fan. prices to buy things are expensive. within walking distance to disney's california adventure. it is quite a distance from los angeles and ventura county to orange county. it is a lot closer if coming from downtown la, cerritos, orange county. downtown disney has selected stores. you should check the shopping directory for stores you are interested in. amc theatres has a location here.

  • Pros: tourist attraction, espn zone, amc theatre
  • Cons: 45 min from la, expensive, limited free parking

Love Downtown Disney!

by DaniLanchy

Downtown Disney is a great addition to Disneyland. The restaurants (House of Blues, Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, Y Arriba Y Arriba and others) are great and it is nice that they are all in one place. Also, the shopping isn't bad!! I love how Sephora is there (Closest one to me!) and there are other stores that are unique to Downtown Disney that I have yet to find elsewhere. Also, the kids won't be bored with the LEGO store and Build-A-Bear <-- Cute!. Although sometimes crowded, parking isn't an issue here. Downtown Disney is a very Fun Place and I recommend it to all.

  • Pros: Lots of Shops, Lots of Restaurants, Kid-Friendly
  • Cons: Crowded

FOOD, MOVIES, BAR, STORES...

by budd_e_bev

Downtown Disney is a place to be at! If you aren't in town often, you've got to at least go here once. I've been a few times, and haven't had the BEST of fun, but it's given me something to do. There are Disney stores here as well as other stores (shoes, candy, etc) so you could do some Disney shopping while you're at it. There is also a movie theatre, a few restaurants, ice cream stands afterwards, and even a bar. ESPN is here as well, so there are games upstairs of that to check out! This place has all you could do on a Friday or Saturday night. Great place to have a date as well. Kind of reminds me of 'Citywalk'
