Editorial Review for Market Street Brewery & Pub House – by Shelton Clark
In Short
Thanks to the on-site brewing equipment, Market Street has the aroma of fresh beer. The atmosphere in the dark-wood room and the sunroom that overlooks the river is relaxed and pub-like. There's a full bar and regulars claim the bartenders make the best martinis in town. A mixture of traditional English pub fare, such as fish-and-chips and shepherd's pie, shares the menu with American standbys and Southern specialties.

My husband and I had eaten here a couple of years ago on a visit to Nashville and had a great meal. When we were back in town recently, a group of us went there for drinks on a Saturday night. The tables in the front side room were filthy, so one of the people we were with had to use napkins and water from a leftover water pitcher to clean off the tables. When I went to ask one of the bartenders if someone could help us clean off the tables, she was very rude to me. She was also very rude to my husband, who had just ordered two pitchers and was trying to get some extra glasses to accommodate everyone (the glasses, by the way, were still wet--yuck). When I went to ask to speak to the manager, two other bartendresses were also very rude to me. When I finally located the manager, I told her about our situation and said that we would like to come back the next time we come to Nashville, but wouldn't if we were continued to be treated the way the waitstaff was treating us. "Don't worry about it", she said, "we probably won't be here the next time you come here anyway". I don't know if she was talking about the waitstaff or the restaurant itself, but I hope she's right on both counts. This place is an abomination.
Pros: none
Cons: extremely rude staff, extremely poor service

They don't brew beer, and the food was absolutely terrible. I spent - no I wasted - $22 on two beers from some other place and four fish sticks. Don't go!!!
