Editorial Review for June Mountain Ski Area – by Citysearch Editors
The Scene
These sister slopes to Mammoth mountain are ideal for novice skiers. The roughly 11,000-foot elevation makes for dry snow conditions while the area's parks and pipes give patrons a run for their money. New innovations developed with input from team riders such as Tara Dakides and Danny Kass produced three terrain parks to challenge even the expert snowboarder.
The Slopes
Runs at June are some of the best in California. The mountain is primarily a destination for skiers from southern Californians, who can blast north up Highway 395. To get to the resort from the Bay Area requires driving four hours east on Highway 80, past Tahoe to Highway 395, then heading south almost 150 miles.
