OC's diamond in the rough. The food is amazing, even more amazed when the bill arrives. The decor is a little overboard for my taste, dodging the muriad of plants and trees is a bit much but keeps the noise level down. Its a little tight in the seating, but worth it in the long run. Would definately recommend this restaurant. The Chicken (Pollo de Mole Pablano) is our favorite.
Low Price, Decent Food.... Very average Mexican food.. but my goodness, the prices are low for a sit-down, dine-in, Cadillac serving Mexican restaurant. The place it too "tight" for my liking... seems like everywhere you go, you have to squeeze to get through... but that's neither here nor there... at the end of the day, for the PRICE... it's a decent little value for a night out. the parking lot is much like the interior... very tight and compact...
Yummy Goodness. I love taking family here from Las Vegas. Las Vegas people always brag about their 99cent breakfasts and $5.00 prime rib dinners. Well - Orange County beats all with this incredible delicious generous Mexican cooking! The prices are great, service is good and there is a home style that does not require dressy dresses and high heels (I'll wear them any ways). Enjoy and treat a friend to a yummy dinner and margarita!!!
Authentic Mexican Food! A touch of TJ.
What a wonderful find! The fun decor reminds me of family visits to Mexico!
The food is realistic portions, authentic tasting and reasonably priced - you can take the wife for a night out or take the entire family for a nice dinner without breaking the bank!
You lke burritos & tacos - but your wife wants Lasagna?
Order yor drinks and relax - they have it all!!
Fantastic food & people.
We love Chili Pepper's. The atmosphere is very authentic - the food is great! I love the complimentary little appetizer & the dessert . My husband & I love to come here for dinner after our Sunday hockey games (Anaheim Ducks!)
We have had our baby granddaughter with us a few times and find the staff delightful!!
Bad Experience.
From the moment I walked in I noticed the vibe, I had my toddler's almost gone sippycup in my hand and the girl at the front practically jumped down my throat telling me I was not allowed to bring in an outside drink, and took it from me and held it at the register. They don't serve chocolate milk for kids?
Second we were seated and I asked for a water with lemon, and didn't get one. 3rd finally someone came over and took our order, even one of the waiters admitted that they were "sleeping" as in not aware to come and take care of us. I noticed a lot of waiters standing around too! We won't be back. It wasn't just me, other people at the table felt the same. Bummer, we were hoping for a new good Mexican eatery.
Amazing Brunch.
Great meal, the Huevos Rancheros Especiales are to die for, you can read more and see a picture on my blog .

Our tradition.
I have been going here since I975. My kids grew up eating there and celebrating birthdays, etc. The service it great, the food good and the price is amazing. The atmosphere is fun and a bit silly. Alot of the same faces working there from day one. One of our favorite things are the soups. They make some of the most yummy interesting combinations. We always have to try them. The fish is great too! I stopped going for a while because I didn't care for their margarita's but they have a great one right now that they'll only serve 2 to you. I found out why...they kick your butt! And they take good!
I love it and have a ton of great memories made there.
You gotta check it out!
YUM.
this is my fave place to eat out. for $40 a family of four can eat, get drinks and have appeitzers. the look and decor is fun and silly, and the service is excellent.
i have been coming here since 98, and i enjoy bringing my 5 and 2 yr old to eat. it's one of the few places that is NOT stressful to eat out with them.
the salsa is amazing and fresh, and i love thier chile verde burritos.
A Unique Experience.
Being someone who has been a frequent diner in most of the OC's mexican hot spots, this place was like a breath of fresh air. I was very amused by the decor on both the exterior and interior.
The very common cliche of chips and salsa had a twist that I found refreshing unlike other reviewers.
The "arroz con pollo" was an explosion of flavors like I had never experienced making my tastebuds crave more per bite. The tropical interior, music and REAL pineapple shell when served my pina colada made me feel like I was on a cruise in Baja.
With todays economy and the restrained budget we are all experiencing, the prices and flavors are a high recommendation from me :)
