Feel at home and great food!

Have been eating here for as long as I can recall and have never been let down by the food or the service. Al is a gem as well as the rest of his team. Highly recommend

The food is good, just don't expect service and the owner doesn't care if you come back or not!

I recently found this spot, and loved it when I walked in. Has a super funky atmosphere, and old skool perfume in the ladies room. Made it a favorite, went 3 weeks in a row and brought new friends each time. I was there last night and had drinks, appetizers and dinner with girlfriends. The food isn't cheap, but I like it there. Usually the owner is nice, and last night started that way. We arrived around 5pm and ordered drinks. There was really no one in the place when we arrived but it got busier as the night went on. The service was pretty much awful from go, but I let it slide, I was catching up with friends. Finally after a 25 minute wait, our drink order was taken, however, I didn't actually see a drink for another 20 minutes. The appetizer's were all together forgotten, and when we said something the waiter seemed angry! Then the salads were wrong, dinner took foreverrrrrrrrr, and in the hour and a half that we were there. I only had two drinks, it's Friday, I could have used another.

Then to top off our evening, the owner comes by, picks up my friends half full drink, and she says, "Hey, what are you doing?" he responds, "What there's nothing really in there, and I'm trying to get you out of here, I need the table!!!" We thought he was kidding, but I was irritated. I just dropped $130.00 bucks with a huge tip for horrible service and this guy is giving us the boot!!! We left and I had a minute to let it sink in, by the time i got to my car I was mad, so I went back in to find out if he was kidding. He wasn't, he said, "Oh well, I needed the table we're busy!!!!" I will NEVER be back, and I try to refrain from the word never, but in this case, I will hold myself accountable.

Great location...the best authentic Italian food!

I have been to Genovese a few times over the last year and every time I go in I get consistant service and amazing food. Al has owned this place for over 30 years, and he is always there! Sometimes he sings, sometimes passes out funky toys, but he is always friendly and looking for a quick chat. That (along with the food of course) makes this one of my favorite local spots. I must have driven past it a hundred times before a friend took me there for lunch...and I've been hooked ever since. Their lunches are great (and filling...had a nice food coma afterwards), or you can have a nice romantic dinner where you really feel like your sitting in a small bistro in Italy. Don't make the same mistake I did and drive past this place...put it on the map and have your next meal here...you won't be disappointed.
