I was humiliated and left the store crying. I went to Biard and Crockett yesterday thinking that I would receive exceptional service from a local small shop - but the opposite happened and instead I left in tears. I purchased a kitchen faucet from them less than a week ago, but after installing it - the faucet was making shaking noises every time we turned it on. My husband removed it and put a new one in that we had to buy from Ace Hardware on Sunday (B & C closed on Sunday) and new faucet works great - no noise.

When I went to return the defective sink with receipt in hand and 3-year-old in tow - there were 5 male employees in the store and no other customers. The man at the counter rolled his eyes right when he saw me walk up. He said he couldn't take it back because it was "used" and the bolts had scratches from the wrench, another man who works there said the shaking I described "doesn't happen". I asked to speak to the manager, the man behind the counter said no and that he would speak to him directly. The man behind the counter mocked me (made exaggerated hand movements), and actually made faces at me after I told him "of course the sink is used, how else am I supposed to find out if it works or not". He also walked away from me several times when I was talking to him.

Finally, the "manager/owner" did stick his head out of his office long enough to call me a "liar" when I said that all I wanted was a sincere apology - but mostly to be treated with compassion and respect. And with that I left the store crying.

In the end - I don't care about the broken faucet I am stuck with and the $60 down the drain. As a woman, it's hard to go into places like that - especially with children. I really felt like I was ganged up on, humiliated and unsafe.…
