MY FAVE FOR CHINESE FOOD. I've been going to Yen Ching's for a long, long time and have NEVER been dissatisfied with anything I have ever ordered. My faves are the Mongolian Beef, Kung Pow Chicken and the War Wonton Soup.

Yes, the place was probably something else at one time or another and not the most flashy on the outside or interior... but don't judge the book until you've read it. The food and service are superb and will always remain my favorite place for Chinese food.

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF GOING-DO NOT !. Arriving on a Sunday, at 1 p.m. we were the only car in the parking lot: should have been a tip-off.: when our group of fifteen arrived, ours was the only table occupied. The restaurant was, I believe, a former IHOP and the inerior shabby, not too clean, and unattractive. The food- poor, poor , poor. The precourser, a fried won-ton skin without filling was cold. The 'paper chicken' a mealy mess, and both served near-cold. The mu shu pork consisted of mainly bean sprouts, uncooked or mere blanched with scrambled egg, and mine had no pork. My daughter's had two miniscule shreds of pork. but remained uneaten. And so forth.

The soup, the orange chicken were fine, but of median quality and far from remarkable. The crispy chicken [ lemon] quite good. Their Pineapple Chicken had required minimum prep time- just open a can of pineapple and throw some in.

This place may, at one time, have been fine-- certainly not now.

Good chinese Food. On the hunt for good authentic chinese in this part of town, and i think i have found a serious contender. Fluffy fired rice. GREAT creme cheese wontons and fresh veggie chicken. It was a very satisfying lunch

We'll Go Back Again. Since moving to California we have had a difficult time finding good chinese food. Most restaurants seem to be more fast-food in style. We found Yen Ching last night for the first time. It was a sit-down atmosphere with and expansive menu. We each tried a beef dish. Although the meat was not of the best quality (I prefer a more steak-like texture to my beef - this beef was tender and a tad rubbery for a lack of a better word), it is still very tasty, the portions big, and vegetable very fresh. All in all, we would try it again. I definitely want to try a chicken dish next. The cream cheese wontons were also very good. The service was very fast and it seemed there was always an employee at our table. We were very happy with the service and intend to go back again.

User review by elvadlt. Of all the chinese food I've ever eaten this is the BEST! I have been there several times, and each time it is SUPERB! I recommend the flaming pinapple chicken, the kung-pao beef and the sweet and sour pork! I love ALL of their food!

Awesome Food!. I've been going to Yen Cheng since it opened, and the food is consistently superior. The service is great (although sometimes it's very crowded), and I've had many great memories there. In fact, we had our wedding reception/dinner there, and the staff was fantastic. They even brought extra dishes for us to try. The perfect meal = Pot Stickers, Sizzling Rice Soup, Dry Braised Beef, and Mu-Shu Pork. Mmm, pork.
