Ultimate Hobbies does have a lot of
products, I'll give them that. Their prices are comparable to others, and service is somewhat questionable. Knowledge about the products is good but rather opinionated.
For instance, I went in to get a specific part, a swash plate leveling tool for an Align 450 Pro helicopter. Instead of yes or no we do or do not have the part your looking for, the counter guy thought it would be best to give me his opinion of why I don't need one, just eye ball it, it's not necessary. I don't care if you think its not necessary and I wasn't asking for your opinion. I asked specifically if you have an item or not. I prefer to do things by the book and be exact, it's just me, thanks.
Also, I HATE, HATE, HATE being treated like a criminal everytime I walk in the place. You can't touch anything that they have behind a counter or in a display case, they must bring it to the front counter and place it in their respective bins, you most certainly can not take it to the front without their assistance. I don't care if you have had some type of theft problem in the past, but I don't believe its customer friendly to automatically classify everyone as a crook before they even walk in the door.
I'll absolutely avoid going to this place and take my business elsewhere unless its something that I just can not wait for and they are the last place that has it available. I'll drive out of my way to avoid coming here and this is strictly based on the vibe I get when you can't even take a $5.00 product to the front counter to pay for it.
Worst Customer Service. After being a customer for a few years and spending a lot of $$$$. I just bought 2 lipo batteries, top of the line charger, new truck body & 1 connector for my son . When I returned the next day to exchange the connector. Somehow it was not on the receipt, and if you shop there you know they escort all parts to the counter for you. The sales person grabbed the connector and basically called me a thief. Not quite the customer service you would expect after being a loyal customer. They are willing to lose a good customer over a 3.99 connector. How simple it could have been just to admit they made a mistake and exchange a 3.99 part. LOST A CUSTOMER FOR GOOD.
