Fraud, admitted dishonesty, and blatant rudeness.... When I emailed a complaint to the owner of Maid in California, in her reply, she including the following email from her employee:

Hi Debbi, this cust. says he has been calling but he has not left any messages in-till today(Friday) when we began our conversation he said he was interested in using only the two hours of Groupon as we continued our conversation he changed his mid several times he started to give me a head-ace so when he asked for your name i said your name was Donna so he would not give you a head-ace but he is just a pain. sorry i was not able to resolve this one.

Thank you for responding. Please note, in every conversation I had with Maid in California, I consistently asked for 2 cleaners for 2 hours with payment being the Groupon plus $64.00 total (which is the regular rate of 2 people, per hour). In my original telephone conversation with you in January, this was the agreed upon price. In your email, you quoted the exact same total. When I spoke with Xochitl, she advised this was absolutely not possible and that the rate for 2 cleaners for 2 hours would be $128.00 minus $32.00 for the Groupon which makes my additional total $96.00. At no time, even when I rephrased the question in several different ways, did she say I could apply the Groupon plus $64.00 for 2 cleaners for 2 hours. This is the fundamental concern behind my 3 telephone messages and 1 email to Maid in California. Had you returned my 3 calls, we could have amicably and quickly resolved this issue.

Instead, having your employee refer to me as being "just a pain" and causing her a "head-ace," intentionally lying to me about your name, then presenting the cost of service as $32.00 more than advertised, is nothing short of fraud, admitted dishonesty, and blatant rudeness.

At this time, I'm going to terminate my relationship with Maid in California and formally request a full refund of the Groupon. Please let me know how to retrieve my refund?

AWESOME SERVICE. Execellent service and awesome attention to detail that this company has given to me over the past year and half. From the first time I used this cleaning service they made sure that I had the exact team that would clean my house the way I would want it cleaned. They surveyed the job before sending the team and then followed up with me afterwards to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the cleaning that I received. They are always reasonable and come to my house when they say they will be there ON TIME. If there is a problem someone calls you. You always do exactly what I want done. You are a professional outfit and would out do any Cleaning (Maid) service in California.

******An example of the exemplary cleaning is when I had my wood floors sanded. What a MESS! They sent a team in and they cleaned everything! The walls the floors,dusted , vacumed away all the wood particles. I didn't even know that I had an after construction clean up in my house after they were done. It looked like NEW! They did a fantastic job they were fast and reasonable. Thank you for all you do to make my life a littler easier.

I believe you are the BEST!

Absolutely Awful. Terrible customer service - rude, intrusive, completely clueless about how to treat customers.

The company pulled a blatant bait and switch - quoted one price and then once they arrived at the site, claimed that the job was more work than initially stated and - get this - the assistant at the office claimed that because it was a holiday week there was a need for increased fee.

Stay away from these people. Unprofessional, clueless about how to do their job, and pulled tactics that one would associate with a disreputable company.

Worst maid service ever - DO NOT EVER USE - I know I will never, ever use them again. This was the worst maid service I have ever used. First off, they showed up late. They came in to clean my house the day before moving in and when I checked (since they didn't have me go through everything) found that most of the cabinets and drawers were only cleaned in the front and not in the back. Everything they did was done only half way. When I called to complain afterwards, they offered the maids to come back the day I was moving in, which could not be done or a few days after - when I would have already had to unpack and put things away. When I started putting things away - I found that it was even worse than I thought as I had to reclean every single drawer and cabinet in the 3 bathrooms, 3 closets and the kitchen which has many shelves and drawers. Even my husband was appalled as we found sawdust in quite a few areas and top shelves/cabinets had not even been touched and were filthy. The unprofessionalism of the office was worse. They offered me half off the price and then reneged. The owner never called me back and refused to talk to me, which would have gone a long way towards how I feel about this company. They ought not to be in business and anybody using them should beware of the sloppy job and unprofessionalism. Save your money and look for a maid service that will actually clean and be worth the money you want to spend.

Excellent House Cleaners!!. I have been using Maid In California for over 3 years now. I have 2 kids that are a handful and sometimes I don't have time to pick up their bedrooms and do the laundry. I opted to have a single cleaner that comes in every week cleans my house, does my laundry and puts it away for me.

This is a good reputable company that has excellent customer service and my favorite part : English Speaking, professional house cleaners that clean my house just the way I want it!!!

Great Service Well Worth The Money!!. I was shocked to see the previous review done by mleewang. I have used the same cleaner, Karla and her husband every other week for over 2 years and have ALWAYS been happy with them and their attention to detail. I do remember the first time they cleaned my new house because the difference was amazing. The previous owners were very dirty (although they claimed to have cleaned it before we moved in) and my bathrooms were a horrible sight. We had mold, mildew and lots of hard water spots all around our shower and toilet areas. Karla and her husband scrubbed them until they shined like I had never thought possible. We were actually planning to remodel the bathrooms immediately since we never thought they could become clean. Because of Karla and her husband we were able to put off remodeling our bathrooms and save lots of money. Of course this type of cleaning takes time but was well worth the money. Maybe "mleewang" does not appreicate the time and hard work it takes to transform filth into fabulous!

unacceptable charged. My husband and I moved into a 3bed/3bath townhouse, on March 17,08. The landlord cleaned the house before we moved in. On April 4, I asked Maid in California send two house cleaners to my home. One of the cleaner name, Karla, spent two hours to clean the master bathroom until I asked her moving to other room to clean. After that , they spent another 1 and 1/2 hours to finish the whole house clean other than master bathroom. I paid $210 check which charged $60 x 3 1/2 hours. Since than I still cannot understand how come, Karla, needed to spend two hours to clean the master bathroom?? There only my husband and I lived in this house. I called the company to compliant about this happen but the company cannot give me a very good reason.

I highly not recommended people to use this company service.

Best Cleaning Service Ever!!!!. This company was professional from the minute they answered the phone to the high quality cleaning performed. The house cleaners arrived on time, the lead spoke great English and their quailty was superb. The English helped me so much because I am very particular about everything and it gave me the opportunity to tell them exactly what and how I would like some things cleaned. I have searched and searched to find a company like this one, I will be their customer for life. Thank You , Thank you Maid in California for really making my life easier.
