So Far So Good – My husband and I were all set to buy a new furnace from Lowe's when we heard from a friend of ours that Southern California Edison could give us rebates on our installation. We found Airwest through the SCE website and called them for a quote. Dave (the owner), came out to see us. He was very professional and explained to us how the rebates worked. We liked how there were no gimmicks, no sales pressure. We just signed a contract with Airwest and look forward to seeing the kind of work they do.
Air Worst is what they should be called – AIRWORST is what they should be called. Had them install an a/c unit 4 years ago. Just found out that what they installed was not what it said on my invoice(installed a cheaper model). Not only that, I paid $95 to have them come up and tell me what was wrong with my a/c. they told me the compressor was out. I asked for a price of how much it will cost me to fix it - $931 with a 90 day parts & labor warranty. I told them to go ahead. A week later a different guy came to install the new compressor and fix my ac - . After 2 hours it wasn't working. They came back 2 days later (new guys). They said that the last guy didn't balance it right. Again, they fixed it -this only lasted for an hour. They came back only to say that it will be another $806 for them to fix it. Come on, I bet you if I agreed to pay that, my a/c still wouldn't be working and it will cost me another $700 to fix it. BTW, don't go by the reviews offered from service magic. Apparently, they only post positive reviews. If you try to post a negative review they will reject it saying that your review doesn't meet their guidelines.
GOOD SERVICES – After they told me that how good they are, so I signed a contract to install entire system on 5/14/10. However, on the first day, one of the crew broke my ceiling, then, after they installed the furnace unit, it caught fire. Luckly, the furnace is in the gargage. Well, it wasmy bad luck or they had a bad day? The labor warranty is expired after one year that the system installed. However, after spoke with Craig (manager), he sent someone to take care the problem on 8/4/11, but without charge. So far so good as of 8/4/11. I would recommend AIRWEST to anyone, and if you have any problem you need to talk with the right person, so they can take care of you.
Awesome service – I recently had to replace a 25 - 30 year old heating unit in my Garden Grove home. From the first meeting with their sales person through picking which heating unit was appropriate for my home, I felt I was being treated with respect and professionalism. They worked with me on the financing. As for the installation? They arrived on time, prepared the work area and kept the disruption to a minimum. I am completely happy with their work, the unit we agreed on and the financing!
Thanks Airwest for saving me money every month! – Airwest installed a whole house fan in our two story house and it is amazing. We have literally saved thousands of dollars in our electric bill. Every two story home should have one and I tell all my friends and neighbors about it. I wish I would have done it sooner. Last year before the fan was installed, our July bill was $700, this year it was less than $300. I routinely save any where from $400 to $100 a month on my electric bill since I don't have to use the air conditioner as much. The work was done on time, the technicians were courteous and clean. The price was reasonable and they made sure I got the rebate information from our electric company. I have been so pleased that I told them to use me as a reference any time. When it comes time to replace my air conditioner or heater, I will definitely call Airwest again.
Saved my Mother-inlaw – During a terrible heat spell, our air conditioner stopped working. Not a good thing when you live in Riverside but also especially hard on on our family because both my elderly mother and mother-in-law were staying with us at the time. We called Airwest and within a couple of hours, their technician was at the door. He was able to make the necessary repairs quickly and the air conditioner has been working great ever since. The technician was courteous and I thought the price they charged was very reasonable.
Excellent work, Excellent follow-up – Airwest installed a new air conditioning system at my home. The work was done quickly and efficiently. I was so satisfied that I referred them to my daughter who also had a A/C unit installed at her home. You can trust Airwest to do a good job and the unit works great!
Airwest...? Hardly, Airworst is more like it DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY – This is the worst contract I have had the misfortune to deal with. They left the house a mess, lied to us about permits with the City of Long Beach and our Historical Society for a variance, were shocked when we told them it was to be permitted (even though it was on the work order) and then their workers walked off the job with a hole in my roof while working to bring the first installation back to code because they haven't been paid. This company is bad news and I am only too sorry I hadn't read this information about them prior to signing the deal - but wait a minute - they started this project IN MAY of this year so none of this was posted. I for one am going to raise as much of a stink as possible with the state to get these jokers license revoked. Not to mention the time I am going to spend a lot of time each weekend working on the internet getting this review to the top of the epinions page. Again, RUN, don't walk away from the poor service and poor quality you can expect from Airwest.
I regret ever calling these guys – They did not answer the phone the first 3 times I tried calling. I wish I had just moved on. A sales person came out who was nice, but they work on commission, so a lot of what he said turned out to be false. The equipment was not as good as I was lead to believe, nor was the install crew particularly skilled. ( I over heard them saying their pay checks had bounced.) I leave the experience with the distinct impression I was one -two punched. Assured by the sales crew all would be well. Than the reality that the company was anything but professional. My over all impression is I dealt with a totally disorganized work staff. MAKE THEM PULL THE PERMITS !!! Doing this yourself will only give you a head ache. Pass on this company ,why take the chance this will be your story?
All talk! Avoid if at all possible – They don't return phone calls. They were suppose to start Tuesday and we had to call because no one came out. They didn't start until Wednesday and promised to be done by Friday and guess what? This is going into next week. I already took 4 days off work and one of them with a days notice. Now I will be forced to take additional days off work just to sit at home with one guy on the job! No one calls me to update me. I am the one on the phone everyday and it's Saturday and I still have not gotten a call about why the job was not done on Friday! These guys are not the type of people you want working in your home!
