Editorial Review for Angelo's & Vinci's Ristorante – by Lily Fu
The Scene
Couples and families dine in a high-ceilinged, lively room with walls covered in kitschy decor. Stuffed trapeze artists hang suspended in midair, old wine bottles and olive-oil tins line the walls, and three-dimensional neighborhood scenes transplant diners to Italy. Servers are efficient and friendly, but are not well versed in the nuances of the menu.
The Food
Appetizer and entree portions are generous enough to share between two people. Starters include large, crispy calamari served with a zesty, but thin, tomato sauce. Traditional homemade pastas are loaded with cheese. The cannelloni--stuffed pasta with meat, spinach and ricotta cheese--is accented with a tart ragu sauce. The hand-stuffed, pillowy tortellini is pungent and bold with its combination of ricotta, Romano and Gorgonzola cheeses. A popular dessert option is the decadent tiramisu, which delivers the pleasant bitterness of espresso and rich, creamy texture of mascarpone.

I have been to my fair share of Italian food chains, holes in the wall etc. This place clearly is above all of them! The pizza is fantastic and full of cheese! The pasta is served up with huge portions (enough to take home for a second meal). I absolutely love their Alfredo sauce! The bread is homemade tasting and awesome and fresh! They have good prices. I always take my guest here to show off this hidden treasure and make them a fan as well! I just booked my wedding there because the atmosphere is amazing. So much history in this place. It makes eating here fun! I have always had good service as well. I highly recommend this place. I am italian myself and LOVE IT! I have been here probably hundreds of times to say the least and nothing compares!
Pros: Fresh, Authentic, Tasty, Huge Portions
Cons: NONE!

My wife and I visited this restaurant when visiting the USA. It was an exceptional experience. Great food coupled with experienced and friendly staff made for a great evening. In fact evenings as we went back 3 times during our stay. We are not used to such an incredible ambience as our restaurants in the UK tend to be more reserved and certainly do not offer such amazing value for money. Would that we could take Angelo's & Vinci's home with us! Cannot understand some of the detrimental comments made by previous reviewers.
Pros: Fresh ingredients
Cons: We have nothing like this in the UK!
