Editorial Review.
Family-friendly burger joint located in an old barn-style space serves American classics along with fish and chips, Irish nachos, more.

Original owners are far removed. Service, quality and environment spotty now....
Recent Sunday visit reflected dirty restaurant, inside and out. Soiled tables everywhere, slow service, grimy doors/windows/tables/floors/HVAC registers, etc. Cutting corners in the cleanliness department. Concern would be "what is happenning in the kitchen" Ordered milk for the kids - milk was warm/way above 40 F. Upon being made aware, manager on-duty was uninterested and too busy/occupied to care. Suggest avoiding this restaurant in the foreseeable future. Sorry/It used to be good in past years.

The Best Sit-Down Burger Outside of a Steakhouse... or... Other Burger Joints?.
Of course, with the recent advent of high end hamburger restaurants in neighboring Los Angeles (IE. 25 Degrees), one on the lookout for nice hamburgers shouldn't have to look too far. However, the weight of the check might stop the customer dead in his tracks; for this we have Knowlwood, a casual, seemingly family oriented burger stand claiming to have the "World's Best Hamburger" at a price that most would assume fair. I ordered their classic burger, and I can say with much confidence that aside from a nicely executed kobe/wagyu beef burger, this is the best hamburger I have ever tasted in terms of meat. The beef is always hot, but not to the point of burning but melting in your mouth. In most cases, a well done is perfect and not dry, to the point where the juices are still locked in and seem to escape with every tantalizing b ite. The other varieties on the original hamburger are made with the same, excellent ground beef as the original, so I'd suggest some experimentation; produce is not Knowlwood's strong suit as far as it comes to making a hamburger, but it does deliver an expected freshness of quality. If you like hamburgers, this would be an excellent place to try what truly in my mind is "The World's Best Hamburger."

World's Best Hamburger.
The sign outside says "World's Best Hamburger" and it certainly lives up to their claim. Good food in a self-serve rustic environment. Try the BLT, it is great. They also have a restaurant in Irvine, across from Travel land. Yumm

I've been to the Knowlwoods in Fullerton. Not sure if it's still there but it's a decent place for burgers. Kind of on the pricey side. Good portions though. The toppings are fresh. The meat is well cooked.
