Good: Food, Value, Service.
We have eaten for a few years at the Salt 'n Pepper on Orangethorpe and Brookhurst, in Fullerton, CA. They have very good soups but the food was always so-so and because of that I would generally order and appatizer and a hamburger which is hard to mess up but we got tired of constantly having to deal with nuts, wierdos who came in so we stopped going. We have not been back since the outdoor area/smokers area has been taken over by a remodel and made into a sports-bar area with pizza. But in wanting to find a new place, we tried Keno's, a place that our former neighbors used to frequent before they moved.
Keno's has two areas, a lounge area with big red leather type booths in the bar area where they have appatizers durring happy hour, and the coffee shop area. The coffee shop area is fairly packed on the weekends at breakfast but the staff is very good. For lunch and dinner it is not as busy. The soups here are fantastic! Free refils on beverages. Most, if not all dinners include soup or salad and the specials include desert. Add a slice of pie for $1.50.
The New York steak and shrimp specal is terriffic. The ribye is not very good but mostly everythig is quite good. The breakfasts, dinners, sandwiches, hamburgers, soups, and salads are all very good. We eat here about two times a week. For great service ask for Sandy or Shelly, the mother daughter waitress team in the coffee shop but the lounge area is a nice treat too.
While you are seated, you can play, yep, you guessed it, Keno. In keeping with the theme, they also sale Lottery tickets and scratch-offs.
The restaurant is always cheerfully deccorated with current holiday themes. The food is hot, good, and very reasonable. There is always a board of specials daily. I always look forward to our next Keno's visit. You will too. Enjoy!
Best of the best!.
The best in southern California, much like its former sister in Tustin. Great food, wonderful waitresses, outstanding hostess and hosts and the owners are #1.
Great eats!

NEVER EVER, EVER AGAIN...YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO GO BACK!!!.
My wife and I have eaten on and off at this place for years. However, the last two times we've eaten here the service was bad. About 6 months ago we had a unfriendly waitress take our order and it took 30 minutes before we finally asked her where the food was. She came back to tell us that she forgot to place the order with the chefs. She was unapologetic and really didn't seem to care. All though after complaining to the manager she did offer to give us the breakfast on the house...Yeah right, like I trust them not to do something to my food. We left the restuarant without eating.
This moring, we dicided to give the place another chance. This time things seem to be going good unitl we were through eating. The bus boy had cleaned off our plates and we were sitting there waiting for our check. Our waiter passed by us on his way to the kitchen, looked at our empty table and said "how's it going"? "How's it going"? What? "Are you kidding me". We then sat there for a good 15 min. before he walked by us again with a smile ofcourse for order for the next table. I told said that if in the next 3 min. he doesnt walk by with our check then he is getting zero tip. Sure enough....7 min. later he came by and asked if there is anything else and gave us our check. What a joke...even the family seated in the next booth were having problems with their order (same waiter). I will NEVER go back to Keno's...you couldn't pay me to do it.
A variation of Denny's. There was nothing special about any of the food here. It was like eating at Coco's or Denny's. enough said
