I had a pretty good experience with Reborn Cabinets. I really like the way my kitchen turned out, it's very attractive and up-dated. The quality of the cabinets is excellent and they close smoothly and quietly. The installation was orderly and on time. The installer was punctual daily and cleaned up thoroghly after the days job. He was professioal, courteous and conscientious. He also spared me a potential catastrophe by discovering a slow water leak under my sink, a big Thank You to him! I would recommend Reborn Cabinets to anyone whom wants to improve the value of their home.
We contacted several contractors to remodel our master bathroom shower/tub enclosure. One company had me take pictures with my camera phone & send to him to give me a bid over the phone. The other two companies never even returned my call. A fourth company came out to measure 8 months ago but never did email me back with a bid... Fortunately I also called Reborn Cabinets. A sales professional came out within 3 days. He listened to what we wanted & gave us some different solutions to our needs. We got a quote, estimate on when it could be done & how long it would take. Reborn delivered all as promised! Moreover our bathroom looks FANTASTIC!!! Reborn even called after the job to make sure we were 100% satisfied! I would highly recommend Reborn Cabinets to remodel your bathroom!!!
Had it not been for Reborn’s recent radio ads, I probably wouldn’t have taken the time to write this review. False advertising is the final straw that breaks my silence.
1. Radio ad: An entire bathroom remodel “in about a day.”
Reborn salesman: This installation will take about two days.
Truth: A simple three-wall shower and pan took 3.5 days in September, 2013, not including the shower door (different vendor).
2. Salesman: We use our own “crews.” We do not subcontract our installers.
Truth: My crew consisted of one very professional installer, with good credentials, and one apprentice, both subcontracted.
3. Salesman and video: My old shower walls (tile) will be treated with a mold preventer before the new panels are installed.
Truth: Installer never heard of was not provided with any such product. No hidden mold preventer was used.
4. Reasonable expectation: All finish work will be plumb, level and square (as appropriate).
Reality: When the shower door installer arrived, his first comment was that the shower pan was off-level by about 3/8-inch left to right (the low end being opposite the drain!), so my shower door header is now visibly askew 3/8-inch left to right. Fortunately, the pan floor slopes sufficiently to prevent standing water. Also, the left end wall, although plumb, was cut at a slight slant from bottom to top, invisible until the shower door header was installed. It projects forward of the left end wall but recesses on the right end wall, aka “cock-eyed.”
5. Salesman and office staff: Their in-house Project Manager will review and approve all installations after the installers have completed their work.
Truth: No one has yet to inspect, even after two reminder calls and two promises to schedule given By their VP. So my $6,700 shower project looks more like a DIY project than a professional, pricey installation.
Rating the product and the work: I would give the panels and the shower pan a 5 out of 5 for quality, beauty and finish. Of course, they came from a third party manufacturer. My advice is to find the same “virgin acrylic” material (as Reborn calls it) through another vendor, because Reborn’s promises and the quality of the installation rate only a 1 minus.
Reborn Cabinets gave my family and me a great experience. From the first call to the finish product! Our kitchen truly looks amazing. The price was much less than their competitors. I love being in my kitchen now! Such a wonderful experience and it really did take THREE DAYS!
I love my new kitchen and bathrooms! Reborn Cabinets deserves a perfect "10" for the job they did. I highly recommend Reborn Cabinets if your home needs any kind of refurbishing or upgrading. The finished job is spectacular! The granite counters, the cabinets, the doors, the drawers and even the drawer pulls look better than my expectations. All of the workers were always prompt and very professional as well. I'm extremely happy with how the project came and continue to be amazed and surprised every time I look at my kitchen and bathrooms!
We recently had our kitchen cabinets done by Reborn and I could not be more pleased. Nothing was square in that kitchen and this was very challenging. The refacing is absolutely beautiful and the new cabinets they added match perfectly. They moved my microwave and added more granite-again perfectly matched. The most impressive thing is the attention to the small details such as the molding and mitered corners. They were prompt, clean and got the whole job done in 3 days. My project manager Joe was great and his man Pedro is a true artist with wood. It came out better than I ever imagined it would.
We just had our kitchen completed by Reborn. We were apprehensive because we'd heard so many horror stories about remodeling but felt comfortable with Reborn after attending two of their seminars. In a nutshell, our experience with our designer was bad as she had a good cop/bad cop personality. If we went along with what she said, she smiled. If we didn't, we got the biggest frown possible. I guess that was her way of controlling the situation. She never seemed to have much time for us (even stating that when we went to pick out the granite) and pushed us along. At times we weren't sure we'd made the right decision, but oh well, it was made.
We loved the workers that came to the house from the demo guys to the cabinet guy to all the other people that trapsed through our house. They did quality work and I couldn't be happier. They were nice guys to boot and can come to my house for dinner any time.
For the most part, we were happy with the schedulers and their calls to tell us the time a worker would be on site the next day. But when something happened to the granite (they claimed there were too many cracks in the bottom but I'm thinking someone dropped it), scheduling fell apart big time. We had people show up to put in the baseboard when we didn't even have flooring installed, someone showed up to install the 'fridge and we had no flooring, and on and on. It was as if they knew they needed to do something but when the timeline was messed up by the granite issue, they didn't quite know what to do. We had to turn people away as we didn't want the cart installed before the horse. And then in their confusion, they forgot to finish the kitchen ceiling. When the project manager came on site (didn't see him much) he realized it hadn't been done and made a quick explaination about how they always did that last. My uncle was in that business and I know that's not the case. They just forgot and when the plasterer showed up, he confirmed it.
We were going to have them do our master bath but we're going to contract it out. It's not so much the problems with the schedule but the cost. It was quite expensive and the constant "change orders", none of which we generated, just made it over what we wanted to spend. But as someone else said in their post, once you sign the contract, they've got you.
Redoing, refurbishing or upgrading any major part of your house can be challenging, lengthy, and an expensive task. Not only do you have to focus on those factors but the quality of the job at hand.
For years, we wanted our upstairs master bedroom bathroom redone. When we were ready to go ahead with it, and after seeing several ads on Reborn Cabinets, we decided to check them out. My wife and I went to their Anaheim location to see what they offered and how it would fit into our house and budget.
Going in, seeing David Gould at his desk, we walked over to find out if he could help us--and help us he did. Walking us around the facility, he showed us our options, gave us some suggestions, and helped us decide what might be best for us practically and fiscally. On that day, he made an appointment with us to come to our house and design a redo that met our needs.
On the day he came over, David discussed, measured, and worked with us to achieve what we needed at a price we could afford. Agreeing with him, we then set up a day and time for a technician to come over and lay out the redo of our bathtub shower into a total walk-in shower.
Oscar Delgado, our installer, did a fantastic job in taking apart, laying out, and creating our new shower facility. Doing it all by himself, going up and down our stairs, working in our drive-way--he constructed a walk-inshower that set our bathroom and hearts aglow. We were awestruck by how much time (three days) and effort he took in doing the job in an appropriate and quality manner (if installers could receive an "Oscar" like actors--then Oscar would certainly deserve one.)
Continuing to be awestruck by our newly enhanced bathroom, we have to say that Reborn Cabinets truly did a job that made our bathroom--reborn!!
We are born again Reborn fans. With so many horror stories about kitchen remodels we were nervous. Shopped around a lot before deciding on Reborn. The experience was beyond our expectations and the finished Kitchen, wet bar, and bathroom looks terrific. Pride in workmanship and professionalism are just two words that come to mind. Next year the upstairs bathrooms will be Reborn!
Our kitchen cabinet refacing came off without a hitch!!
Couldn't be happier with the quality. Installers Leon & Sharon did the job in three days and cleaned up as they went, no mess to clean up. Salesperson David was so knowledgeable and helpful with many samples to choose from as well as a display cabinet with self closing hinges which we love.. Also happy to know this is a family owned company and cabinets are made here in Anaheim.
Can't say enough good things about our experience.
