What People Are Saying About Good Ol Boys Saloon & Sports Bar

In Short – Even though the sign out front shows a couple in mid-tango, there's not much dancing going on here. There is, however, karaoke, plenty of cold beer (bottles only) and a couple of pool tables. This is the kind of small, dimly lit place you come to when the bright, noisy chain bars overload your senses and you only want to focus on the game.
Editor's Tips
- When to Go:
- There's live entertainment on most weekends, when local bands jam, while the regulars just try to hear the play-by-play over the din.
surprised...in a good way

so my friends dragged me here on saturday night for a friend of theirs bday party. i had only been to good old boys one time before that & was not impressed the first time. I was not too stoked to be going back a second time but figured what the hell.
let me just say that I ended up having a ton of fun. Karaoke was there and even tho I don't sing, it is still fun to watch. The guy running it had a lot of energy & it made it enjoyable. Some of the "best" karaoke is when people go up there & are completely tone deaf in their drunkness.
The pool tables were FREE. I guess it is only on saturday nights but it was awesome! O and they have that golden tee game with a really big tv so it was easy to get sucked into playing one game after another.
Lemme just say that the bartender was smokin hot. A lil intimidating to approach her at first but she was so nice and so sweet that all my fears were point less. Usually when we go to busy bars/clubs the bartenders are rude and stressed out but the bartender at good old boys had a smile on her face the entire night. Even tho we asked her for some pretty complicated drinks and shots she still smiled and said it was no problem & didnt give us attitudes like we get over at Loffler's/Fifteens. So maybe we found our new stompin ground.
great neighborhood bar

good old boys saloon is tucked away on Katella - and possibly a little scary/intimidating from the outside. but once you get inside its way different. my friends and i have been there at least a dozen times over the past couple of years. i gotta say its improving more n more each time we go.
theyve had the majority of their bartenders for a very long time. not much seems to change in that aspect. i have only had 2 bad experiences there. first was with a bartender named dana. she totally turned her cheek on my friends and i when some "locals" were unnecessarily rude to us. she saw the hole thing but never told them to back off. it coulda turned into a huge fight but my friends and i chose to leave instead. i heard she's not working there anymore and i'm glad. I would've walked right out if we came in & saw her behind the bar again.
The 2nd bad time was with a bartender but i don't know her name. she was probably in her early 50's w brown hair and glasses. a little "plump" to. From the second we walked in the door she was condescending and plain mean to us. she treated us like we were worthless. I ordered five of the big schooners of beer at a time and left her a $5 tip each time but she snubbed me and acted like it wasn't good enough. Made me feel like shlt to be honest. I went in another time so i could file a complaint about her but was told to speak to the owner directly. I haven't been able to catch him yet.
besides those 2 instances it's always been a lot of fun there. the rest of the bartenders are really nice and treat us like we're family even though they barely know us. Love just hanging out there and playing pool while watching football (or basketball if its ever on again).
Nicole, Kirbee, Jill & Kristy have been absolutely great. the last time we were there was on a sunday to watch the 49'ers kick some ass on the big screen. Jill was working during the day and really awesome. Nicole took over for her later on that night and we had a great time with her to. they both treated us like we'd been friends for years.
Like i said --- that place keeps getting better and better.
luv this bar!!!!!!!

it's hit or miss with the bartenders there... their either super hot && friendly or their super bitchy & fat & ugly. Kristine is a sweet heart && a beautiful girl. The other girl (jillian?) is hot as f*ck - big b**bs && some hot tattoos. their both real friendly && pour a good drink. the older lady during the day is Kari. she seems nice.
Older chubby chick named gayle works there on Sat nights for a long time now && she acts like someone p*ssed in her cheerios damn near every time i see her.
the drink prices are pretty cheap. only $3.25 for a well && only $5.50 for a big @ss beer. cant beat that!
its ur typical dive bar which is my favorite. the crowd seems to always have a good time && theres always someone to play pool or darts against. plus they have a juke box with every song u can imagine. good drinks, lots 2 do and (usually) great bartenders is why i keep going back.
