Once great/Now sucks. This restaurant had it all at one time. A little gem of an Italian hole in the wall restaurant with ambiance and great food for a good price. Then the owners sold the place three or four yrs ago. Each time I have tried to see if this "new" owner has changed his ways, I have been disappointed. If I order something with chicken, it's too tough/overcooked. I will never try another appetizer again, the calamari was pathetic looking, and the sampler platter had rock hard shrimp. When I'm desperate for a deep dish I will still call in an order. Most of the time, at least that is still good.

Cute Italian restaurant. I like Sal's restaurant. My favorite is the pizza! They have the best deep dish pizza. The happy hour is pretty good as well. My husband and I like to come here when we go to Disneyland.

DEEp dish pizza. The deep dish pizza is pretty good! But I don;t think it's as good as when the previous owner, Sami Zaidan, made it!

Great stuffed pizza. My husband and I went to Sal's last week for dinner. We ordered a stuffed pizza and it was very tasty. I liked how thick the crust was and how we got to create our own pizza with our own toppings. We also took advantage of the drinks on the happy hour list.

I've been back since and tried a pasta dish, now that was delicious!! I think I found a new local dinner spot that is inexpensive and tasty.

They overcharge when you use a coupon. I have been going to Sal?s Bit of Italy for 22 years but I will never go back after this last experience that took place on my wife?s birthday.

We used a Restaurant dot com coupon that gives you a $25 credit. We wanted to order 2 pizzas but he said that they were out of dough. He said that he would see what he could do but we should order the large appetizer plate that the four of us could share or we could get a salad or pasta dishes. He was clearly trying to steer us to the items that he had a higher profit margin to work with.

He came back and said he had dough for one pizza so I got the large with chicken, meatball & garlic for $16.95. I said we will start with that and look over the menu. He returned a few minutes later and asked what else we would like and that we were at $24.95 and needed to order $15 more worth of food. I said that the menu said it was $16.95 but he said that chicken counts as 3 toppings. I said it did not say that on the menu but he insisted that it was. I said to forget it and that we would choose another topping. He said it was too late, it was in the oven. I would have walked out at this point but it was her birthday and I did not want to ruin it for her. After I complained, he said he would make it $22.95.

When he gave us the bill, he clearly wrote $22.95 on the bill but changed it to $24.95 at the last minute.

The only thing I could do was not leave a tip so we paid using a credit card and left. The next day I checked my card total and he added a $7.50 tip for himself.
