Editorial Review for Whole Foods Market Incorporated – by Susan Kirr
The Scene
Bouquets of fresh flowers at the entrance are followed by rows of organic and non-organic produce spilling from terra-cotta bowls. There's a fresh seafood case, a butcher, a bakery, a wine shop and a cheese shop. There are also bulk grains, spices, coffees and teas to indulge all the senses. Vitamins and herbal supplements alone take up several rows.
The Goods
Exotic selections of natural and organic foods categorized in familiar grocery fashion. The prepared-foods department combines items into fanciful takeout dishes: Five-spice Asian beef is marinated in a sweet sauce with a nice hint of cinnamon and cloves; grilled asparagus has a wonderful charbroiled flavor with a tender-crisp bite; tofu eggplant manicotti offers a new twist on a classic--paper-thin slices of eggplant filled with cheese, tofu and carrots, with fresh tomato sauce on top.

I could spend hours here. Largest health food selection on earth. Great customer service. Note: new location is Jamboree and Barranca.

I've been a faithful patron of Whole Foods since 1997. There is such a wonderful variety of foods and bakery goods, as well as sundries for the home, and personal care products. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and my weekly shopping excursion is a hightlight for me. I love talking to the staff and getting to know everyone over time. One of the first people I met at WF is Clarence and I used to giggle at his stories about driving a hearse! Alex is a music major in college and I enjoy our chats about playing the piano. Whole Foods is in alignment with my personal beliefs and I so appreciate that they are committed to selling organically grown food products, as well as natural home products. I love that they are also committed to educating shoppers about organic farming, and about different environmental causes and helping teach people how to "go green" and do their part in the community to make our world a better place. Thank you!
Pros: Largest selection of organic foods and natural home products
Cons: The staff should wear shirts that identify them as employees; they all look like customers.
