Thanks Ocean Hills!. After having several blackouts my family performed an intervention on me. They suggested I go to rehab to get straight. I complied with their demands because I did not want to be the person I was anymore. When I got to Ocean Hills it took 30 days before my brain started working properly. The counselor's were amazing they helped me see where my life was going and gave me tools that I could use to cope with things going on in my life that I used to drink and use drugs over. Ocean Hills Recovery gave me my life back!!!!!. When I entered the Ocean Hills Recovery treatment program I was such a hopeless drug addict and alcoholic I had literally completely given up all hope on life. I had made more attempts at cleaning up on my own than I could count at that point in my life in addition to exhausted efforts on behalf of my family, friends, the court system, employers...basically every person who had known me on any personal level had tried to help. I had even been reduced to partial custody of my own child because of my erratic and inappropriate behavior which was the most devastating blow of them all. I went to Ocean Hills Recovery following an intervention arranged by my family. I had tried everything and was not at all convinced anything was going to work but I agreed to go because the only thing I hadn't tried was leaving home and going away for help. Ocean Hills Recovery was appealing because of the cozy home-like atmosphere. When I got there, the staff adopted me as family immediately. They truly love every person who walks through their doors. Ocean Hills was far from the typical substance abuse treatment experience I had pictured in my mind. The staff devotes their lives to their patients. They taught me about accountability and taking responsibility and gave me all of the pieces I never knew I was missing when I was attempting to achieve sobriety on my own. I was loved unconditionally and lead with a firm hand which showed me the way to self sufficiency and lifetime sobriety. I felt life come back while I was there and wanted to hold on to what I had been gaining from the Ocean Hills treatment program that I stayed there until I knew for sure it was safe for me to leave and stay sober. The best part is that I know with certainty what I have to do on a daily basis to maintain my sobriety and Ocean Hills Recovery gave me these tools all of which make me happy and allow me to feel content within my life which is something I was never able to feel before this experience. I was finally released from the chains of addiction. I am now employable, I am a loving, contributing member of my family, a true friend, and a proud parent. I am lucky enough to be able to be a living example of how it is possible to overcome addiction and alcoholism. I have been sober for 4 years this month which is simply a miracle and the greatest gift of my life thanks to Ocean Hills Recovery. I feel there are a lot of treatment centers out there that do not really put their hearts into their patients to the extent that Ocean Hills does and this recovery center is truly unique and special.
