My family has 2 pugs, one getting up in years and the other middle-aged. We recently acquired a french bulldog and BOY! things are not as mellow in our household :) We take all 3 dogs to the hospital as everyone who works there, from the front desk ladies, to the techs and groomers - ALL really care about the animals that come through the door. Dr. Radovich is known as the "Pug Rescue" doctor, so you gotta love him just for that! He has done AMAZING things with rescue pugs, who are then given another chance at life. Dr. Courtney was a great vet there, but she went on to pursue another career. The last time our 2 pugs were seen by Dr. Smith, and I was very impressed with his real care for the dogs and I also appreciate that he takes the time to explain, in laymen's terms, what conditions exist and how they will be treated. If there are treatment options, he also makes us aware of those. Our little frenchy, "Toulouse," who is 7 months now has only been to this hospital, as her breeder takes all her new french bulldog puppies into Dr. Radovich for their "baby visits" and innoculations, before they are given their new homes. As a matter of fact, that's how my husband found "Toulouse:" Connie (the breeder) had him in his cage in the lobby area and Kenny asked to see him - well, that's all it took for him to fall in love! Just because I speak of Pugs and Frenchies doesn't mean the other breeds of dogs and cats aren't also treated well. I only hear positive words from the other customers as they are waiting for their animals to come out from the back. If youfeel as though your vet doesn't really care as much as he or she should, or doesn't spend enough time explaining things to you and you walk out with more questions than you came in with, I would suggesr you try Airport Animal Hospital on Bristol. They are GREAT! (By the way, this is completely unsolicited; I was just looking up their phone number online and found this site!

Pros: Warm, professional staff - gets to know your animal by name - really care!

Cons: Parking is a problem! Very small parking lot.

I have been a client of Airport Irvine Animal Hospital for over 5 years now - I have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and more. I have been very pleased with the service I've gotten at this animal hospital. Dr. Renehan is usually my vet, and she is very thorough and knowledgeable, as well as gentle and kind with my animals. She takes the time to greet them all, and remembers why they have been in before, and she takes the time to explain to me what is going on with any treatment or diagnosis, which means a lot to me as a concerned 'mom'. She also calls when she says she will to give me results for tests and/or bloodwork, making sure to ease my nerves when I am worried about my 'best friends.' I highly reccommend this vet's office - the staff is always very friendly, and I feel all of the veterinarians take good care of my animals - even in surgery.
