Honest Deli. I ahve always had a good meal here. The meals are tasty and what you would expect from a Jewish Deli. I eat here quite often and always leave full and satisfied
Good, Solid Deli.
I've been coming here for probably 30 years now... and I'm under 40! :-)
a place that stays in business that long must be doing something right... it's nothing fancy, just a plan and simple Jewish Deli. Great sandwich's, love the chicken noodle soup. Comfort atmosphere...
Give it a whirl and try one of their triple deckers.. FAnnnnNNnnnnNTastic!
and yes, this is a "REAL DELI"... great stuff.
Yikes, this place was gross!. We ate there today for the first time. (7/7/08) Blah! The matzoh ball soup was the most bland I have ever had. The pastrami sandwich was decent, but the potato salad is not homemade, and it is sweet like the kind you get at the local supermarket. I would save my money for Katella Deli in Los Alamitos, or the little whole in the wall place in Laguna Hills called Kosher Bite.
A REAL Deli in Orange County.
I remember the shock when I first saw the "Best of Orange County" list of good deli's and list two or three franchised sandwich shops.
Benjie's is a real deli. They have matzo ball soup. They have blintzes!!!
They have senior citizens eating early bird dinners @ 4:30pm when I'm finally getting time to each lunch.
And at no time did I think I would have to take out a home equity line of credit to pay for a good meal.
We've been there for dinner and breakfast. And overall it's the best deli we've found this side of "the orange curtain."
As always - I suggest sticking to things that you're supposed to find in a deli - meat sandwiches - breakfast foods - blintzes - smokes salmon - traditional dishes (kasha varnishkas are VERY good - avoid the knishes).
