If you like BAD service then..... I get so frustrated with places that spend money on the interior, in an effort to appeal to the upper class, but then eveything else is neglected. The staff is extremely RUDE and if they make a mistake they blame it on you - yes, they have the audacity to fight with you and tell you to your face that YOU, the customer, are wrong.

I've been to many Persian restaurants and other establishments, so the rudeness might be cultural - Persian people are very direct, abrupt, confrontational, and... not used to putting on a friendly smile when greeting you for the first time (I can say this because my father is Persian). These are not good attributes to have when you are running a business. Why subject yoursef to such awful treatment?

The food is OK, but can't justify their high prices. Spend your money some place else and stay away from this overrated Persian restaurant.

Doesn't Add Up. In the recent years, Darya has not only managed to raise their prices by a good 80%, but managed to lower their standards in terms of quality of food, and service. I have been a patron for 10 years, but my last few visits really left a bad taste in my mouth. The ambiance and price are that of a high class restaurant, but the food and service do not match up to expectations.

Not The Darya It Used To Be. My last visit, I paid $24 a plate for the Kabob Barg ("filet" meat) which was chewy and full of fat, and the waiter had a big attitude problem. He asked, "how would you like your steaks done" referring to the Barg, and when we said "medium well", he brought back two Chicken Kabobs. We told him that we specifically asked for Beef Barg, and he said that we were mistaken! After pointing out to his earlier question regarding "how would you like your steak done?" he said, "well, maybe it was my fault, but never the less, you ordered Chicken... if you want me to go change it, it will be another 15 minutes." It isn't just this time that we have had problems with the service or quality of food.

Good Food. I recently had lunch at Darya's and was pleasantly surprised. A friend from work recommended it and all four of us enjoyed our food. Of the four of us, one is Persian, two have had Persian food several times before and one had never tried it. We all tried different dishes and tasted each other's food. Our service was prompt, efficient, but not overly friendly. While the prices are higher than for many other restaurants, they are similar to other high-end restaurants.

Good for me. Ive only gone once and I havent had been to enough Persian restaurants to call myself an expert but I was very fulfilled with my meal. My work went for our company Christmas lunch and we ordered an appetizer made of eggplant and roasted onions and I couldnt stop eating that.
