CLOSED!!. Despite the good reviews, we went by and found it closed. I head that Ruth died, and her daughter coudnt handle the place.

Went to another place as reccomended by people nearby and found it to be a joke. Watch out for Burell's. Good PR in how they present themselves, but the food looked and smelled pretty lacking.

The best place for Southern food in OC. I found this place after getting referred from a co-worker and I go all the time. The food is always excellent and the staff is so nice and pleasant. I've referred other people and have heard nothing but rave reviews. Definitely beats paying more for so-called Southern restaurants like Lucille's or Johnny Reb's.

Great Soul Food in Orange County. I had the "four sides," no meat meal. It's the sides I love. The coleslaw was very good. The macconi and cheese was excellent. Heavy on the cheese and had black pepper, giving it a little kick. The greens were great and the corn bread was taken out of the over, to fill my order. They were nice and I felt like I was in their little kitchen. Try it. I can't wait to go back.
