I didn't know what to expect, but all of a sudden, I saw this huge, almost monstrous 3 ft catfish, roasted till it was the same golden brown as a roast pig with skin that crackles and breaks as you dig your fork into it. Tomatoes lined the edge of the catfish as peanuts were sprinkled on top of white meat they cut into. And then, they served the entire spring roll set up for us- a heaping plate of aromatics including cilantro, mint and basil, a plate of spring roll wrappers, a bowl of pickled daikon and carrots, and three different kinds of dipping sauces! Forget ordering anything else- just save your appetite, bring some friends, and order the biggest catfish you can!
the best food you'll get for this price. The food is delicious and cheap, though in all fairness, Vietnamese food is almost always cheap. My parents love this restauant and they hold Vietnamese food to very high standards. My friends love this restaurant, so customers not familiar with Vietnamese food can appreciate it too. It's a fairly small restaurant and can get crowded on weekend evenings.
Bad service and dining environment.
There was a fly in my friend's drink and it made her very sick. We told a waiter but NO ONE came to apologize for it. During the dinner, there are several flies around our table. Very bad experience.
The service is "NO SERVICE". They did not refill water berfore we were going to leave.
When we refused to pay the service fee automatically charged for large table and asked if we could speak with the manager, the cashier was very rude. A guy (maybe the manager) finally showed up and explained why there was a fly in the glass: "you see, there are some flies in the restaurant....blah blah blah..."
My Experience at favori. Favori is one of the most popular restaurant here in Orange County. I would highly recommend you to try this restaurant if you are ever in the area. Although it is better if you go in a bigger group because they do serve a lot of food that everyone can share. My favorites here at this restauarant is the bake fish wrap, beef-lime salad, and their shrimp fried rice. And if you have room for dessert try the flaming banana.
