Love the Croissant Sandwiches. I stumbled on this little restaurant when I was stuck in downtonw Santa Ana for jury duty. I deciced to give it a try because its patio was quite busy. I had their croissant sandwich because I cant find them in many restaurants. I have been back three times now and tried several different sandwiches and have not been disappointed. I make it a point to drop in here every time Im in the neighborhood.
Unbelievable!!!!!. After reading the last two reviews that are already on here I can only say this lov: Got it right on the nose. The service, ambiance and food were excellent! Especially the "G" bread! It is a woman's bestfriend. I couldn't even count how many of them were flying out of the kitchen. As far as the other review "the owner is an A**!" well he couldn't be further from the truth. I met the gentleman (Pierre) and with in five minutes of talking with him, we felt like we had just been adopted into the Bistro family. Not to mention that he is extremely funny! My friends and I couldn't have been more pleased with a restaurant. We sat on the Patio, listened to great Jazz music, ate to our hearts content and I think by the time the evening was coming to an end we had tried everyone of there signature Martini's! If your looking for a place to sit, relax, drink, eat and laugh the night away, look no further, Bistro 400 is the place to be.
Fantastic.
I can't believe more people have not discovered this place! From the Staff, the atmosphere,, drinks, food and the incredible live music (which is every Friday & Saturday) we can't wait to go back! Like one of the other reviews said, talk to the owner Pierre for five minutes and you will feel like you have been adopted into the Bistro family.
Their menu was very impressive. Take my advice and start off with the G-bread! It came highly recommended by our server and we were not let down. Six pieces of a crusty Baguette covered with cheese and soaking in a garlic cream alfredo sauce! OMG to die for! After the G-bread I moved onto the Lobster Ravioli. Ravioli resting in a sweet garlic parmesan cream sauce with tomatoes and onions. The perfect proportion for an entree and quit delicious! Our server warned us that the dish can be quit addicting and once again he was right. My friend had the Salmon Royal, a salmon filet surronded by spinach, topped off with sauteed artichoke hearts, bacon, sweet onions drizzled with a lemon cream sauce! Now this dish looked so beautiful that it was almost difficult to bite into, almost! Once my friend bit into one of the most moist filet of salmon she has ever had there was no stopping till the dish was gone! Needless to say she REALLY enjoyed it. To finish off our evening we decided to looked at the dessert menu and shared an Apple Galette. A change on the American classic Apple Pie with a crusty french pastry as its crust. I will definitely have this again!
So if your looking for a place that is small, has fantastic food, good live music in a relaxed atmosphere Bistro 400 is the place that you should visit on your next night out!
