In Short
Mid-region Vietnamese cuisine is dished up quickly, generously and at bargain rates. Families crowd into this bustling, casual and cheerful high-ceilinged eatery. They're famous for their nem nuong cuon appetizers, including deep-fried pork egg rolls wrapped in fresh cool greens and rice paper. Also try the banh xeo, a deep-fried coconut curry pancake filled with bean sprouts, shrimp and pork and the hu tieu, a special dried rice noodle.

Do you want to try the best of the best in Vietnamese spring rolls? Then you must head over to Brodard Restaurant specializing in Vietnamese Cuisine. The spring rolls there are so good especially their meat filling ( banh cuon nem). Other things are good there too but they are best known for their spring rolls. The wait is long so if you want other things to try you might want to look at other things but you should definitely try their spring rolls if you do go. The price is a bit pricey, a little more than what you would normally pay but it's okay. The location is a bit tricky since it's BEHIND a store (99cents store). It's like located in the back of the parking lot (kind of).

I would be completely lost if I'm not with a Vietnamese friend when I come here. They have a wide assortment of dishes to pick from, and figuring out what you're going to have can be an adventure. Most of the patrons are Vietnamese, as is the staff, so its best to be careful you make your order as clear as possible to avoid any misunderstandings later on. This is a large friendly restaurant that can accommodate a lunch group, or if you have children in your party. If you're Vietnamese you'll be able to offer a much more qualified critique of this place; however, for the non-Vietnamese, I think you'll find it amazing!

I was in the area and I wanted to try Brodard, famous for their nem cuong. I thought the nem was a bit salty and the egg rolls were not crunchy enough. The sauce was also a bit water downed. The nem cuong was a bit pricey as well. I had a hard time looking for the restaurant because it was located in the back of a market next to the dumpsters which isn't really appealing. I had really authentic nem at Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa in Rosemead however the wait is a bit long but it's definitely worth it. They sell 4 rolls of nem cuong for $4.99 and their banh beo is really good too. I also tried nem in Vietnam and the nem at Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa is the closet taste to it as compare to Brodard.

The Extras:
Ask about their catering services; their egg-roll appetizers would make a great party platter.
