Good Sushi, Bad Service.
We love to go there for dinner when the boats are filled with sushi choices. I never realized how long it took the chefs to ask for and give you an order.
We went there twice for lunch when the boats are not running and waited over 45 minutes for our order. There was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time. The chefs were busy preparing take-out orders and apparently patrons in the restaurant are served last.
We will never return for lunch again, but may return for dinner after I've forgotten about the lousy service.
Best sushi experience in Southern California. Going to Good Choice Sushi is well... The best choice. This Hawaiian style Kaiten sushi place is my favorite stop when I am in the Southern California area. I easily would drive 50+ miles out of my way for the goods they put in the little boats that float across the bar. Some of the items I love to request like the Shrimp Boat are fantastic and the Poke would be a desert island choice. The crunchy roll will make anyone a total sushi devotee. The best news of all is that this place really inexpensive. On certain days the all you can eat is around $20! Don't miss this place. Be sure to arrive early and eat at the bar.
Above Average & Fun. A floating sushi bar in Laguna Niguel is a nice surprise. The sushi is not bad either.
Good Choice - Cckroach on a Boat. I'm from Hawaii and love a good place to grind. I used to frequent Good Choice on a fairly regular basis, the food, the price... The staff wasn't too bad either. 2008 - I took a friend there who was visiting from out of town and there on one of the sushi boats was a cckroach... The buggah made at least three to four round trips enjoying the sites as other patrons whispered and commented amongst themselves. Yeh, that was the end of my visits to the sushi buffet that I had become so fond of. BEWARE - 'Of the Crunchy Cckroach Roll - All pau, aloha Good Choice.
best shushi in laguna niguel. the first time i went there i wase 20 but now im 23 im very piky abuot rice and there rice is very good i recomend this high qualaty shhushi to evry body
All you can eat---NOT. We have patroned Good Choice Sushi for years and were rudely surprised with the; "You ate more than all you can eat" and we were charged extra. We will never go there again, and will never buy take out from them again.
Terrific sushi at a good price, very kid friendly and nice atmosphere. I have eaten there numerous times and have gotten consistently good sushi with each visit. Their menu is not creative, but is the standard sushi fare you find just about everywhere. Their poki salad is a terrific value for the money..$10.00 gets you a nice size bowl with rice, cucumber, masago, tons of poki, and avocado, along with a soup and salad. The staff is friendly and they consistently greet you Japanese style the minute you walk in the door. overall, a great value.
Horrible sushi. The sushi at good choice is the worst sushi I have ever tasted. The resturaunt it self is very dirty. The sushi chefs don't know what they are doing. The servers are nice and friendly but that's the only good thing I have to say about this place. I do not recommened this place to anyone. It's bad, end of story.
Great quality and great take out. This place has great quality and is an awesome neighborhood sushi place. I don't know that I'd take a date here as it is a lot of families and not a real "date" crowd, but it is usually busy and the quality is excellent. It is, regardless, my first choice for take home sushi for myself and/or for "guests". Always top quality and very fresh and the price is quite affordable. I frequent the expensive places for "live" sushi and atmosphere, but this place is just as good on quality. Last, not real imaginative stuff but, as said, very fresh and high quality for a sushi fix.
