Terrible terrible terrible........ I have been wanting to write a review for this place for a while now. I found this place on a random night out with some hungry friends. We saw that they were open and there were people outside. As we walked in, no one was there to greet or seat us. The owner was sitting at a table inside with a few other guys playing poker and ignoring his customers. Whoever that was sitting outside was smoking hookah and seemed like they all knew each other and didn't mind being ignored by the owner. There was a teenage-looking boy who had his laptop hooked up and picked the music. We later saw advertisements of Mama Kabob saying that they have live music and a DJ!!

There were some underage kids smoking hookah in the patio and as we were trying to figure out where to sit, a dog ran outside from the kitchen, followed by a woman who picked the dog up and carried him back inside.

My friends were really hungry and decided to stay. I didn't feel comfortable ordering from a kitchen that a dog was just in. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but not when they are in the kitchen of a restaurant! The owner of this place is very rude and acts like he doesn't care about your business. They also mess up with your bill, charge you for things you didn't order and refuse to explain and give you a reciept. The food here is really bad and I found a hair in my soup which was also ignored by the server. Everything in this place is shady and gross. The owner never came out to check on us and there were no servers except a woman who didn't know what she was doing and looked very careless. I think they make more money gambling than making decent food. If you want to be disrespected and served with a plate full of crap, go to Mama Kabob and experience it for yourself.

Worst Thing That Ever Happened To Me. If I could give this place a zero star, I would.

This restaurant is operated by a man who looks very disgusting in nature. Not that he is ugly, but you can tell he doesn't have good personal hygiene. I feel uncomfortable seeing him go in and out the kitchen. I also couldn't ignore the fact that another disgusting-looking woman (possibly his wife) was playing with a very hairy dog outside and touching the food and plates without washing her hands. I saw her going in the kitched with the dog in her hand a couple of times and it just grossed me out.

They change the prices whenever they want and totally ignore what is written on the menu. The food is absolutely horrible. I went there way more than I was supposed to, only because a friend of mine who lives in Tustin wanted to go somewhere that has food and hookah and is open late. I had their hookah a few times and the first time I noticed that the charcoal was burnt so I asked the guy to change it for me. He appoligized and returned with new charcoal. Later on, he charged me for two hookahs, even though I only had one. When I asked him why that is, he said it's because he changed the charcoal. (That doesn't make any sense at all) he also charged us for the tea we didn't drink (or ordered!) and the bottled water my friend already had in her hand before she came in! The soup my friend had was flavor-less, and kabobs we had were terrible. I'm Persian so I know good, authentic Persian food and this is so not it. If the image of that guy making your food with his dirty hands is not enough to stop you from coming here, maybe knowing what a thief they are will stop you. Something else that I have noticed is that they have weekly and sometimes nightly poker games which they gamble with money. One of the customers asked me to join and also said that the police officer who sometimes hangs out outside is a friend and is "ok with it". Some of the customers bring weed and ask the guy to add it to their hookah!! I have never seen that happen in a public place, let alone in a restaurant!!

Illegal gambling, dirty place, disgusting food, use of drugs and a thief of an owner...I don't think so.

I don't know why no one from the health department has stopped them and no one has reported them to the police because of their illegal gambling and drug use. Who knows what else these people do in there, Save your money and your sanity, stay away from this place!
