Well known for its historical Mission, San Juan Capistrano is also home to the infamous Swallow's Inn. The Los Angeles Times voted the Swallow's Inn as `one of the 10 worst bars in America’. An institution for at least 65 years, the Swallows Inn, is a fun place to spend an hour or two, or six! At any given time you’ll lible to find cowboys, bikers, surfers and truckers.

No Cover Charge. Must be 21 or over!

• Pros: Western Funk
• Cons: Pricy drinks, especially when the band is playing

A must to experience at least once!

I've been going to the Swallows Inn for 30 years and recommend everyone visit at least once. Yes it is a "cash only" establishment, so be prepared if you want to drink or have something to eat (NOTE: food not available at all times of the day). Tuesday night karaoke is fun even if you don't sing; $1.50 delicious tacos available! Saturday afternoons really "rock" (the band is usually rock or blues); evening bands Thursday through Saturday are Country/Western. Cowboys, bikers, surfers, business people, you name it, they are there! Come on down!!!

• Cons: Can be loud and crowded (depending on the day and time)
