Had lunch there last week when I
thought, "Why". Overpriced, food only so-so. So many better options nearby. In fact Wahoo's is across the street. Duhhh...

The flavors of the Baja have a home north of the border with this fast-food fish-taco restaurant..
In Short
After years of traveling to Baja California and enjoying fish tacos at beachside stands, Ralph Rubio opened his first restaurant in San Diego in 1983, banking on the south-of-the-border favorite. Today, Rubio's are located throughout the Southwest serving tacos, burritos salads and more. Baja-style fish tacos are the specialty--beer-battered Alaskan Pollack, cabbage and salsa in a soft corn tortilla. Street tacos (carnitas, carne asada, chicken), quesadillas, nachos and taquitos are other popular options.
