Dangerous if you need something other than a cleaning. I had some OK experiences with teeth cleaning, until Dr. Overos (sp?) told me I needed a $400+ night guard to prevent night time teeth clenching & TMJ issues from getting worse. Fine.

I had lots of extra pain after wearing it, which I know now shouldn't occur, but he dismissed my concerns and told me to keep wearing it. After only 2 weeks, it worsened drastically and I developed constant dizziness and tension around my skull. I'm on NSAIDs now and have been off the night guard for about 3 weeks, and while there's been marginal (at best) improvement, there isn't an end in sight yet. All because one arrogant dentist knew nothing about bruxism treatment and refused to acknowledge the obviously negative symptoms he caused in his patient.
