The Scene
Set on the second floor of a 1921 landmark building in downtown Old Newport, this inn offers contemporary comfort in a plush Victorian setting. It's just steps from the McFadden Wharf, where fishermen still bring in their catches, and Newport Harbor, which is teeming with multimillion dollar yachts. The inn is perfect for those who adore opulent style, although the more modern crowd could feel overwhelmed by the intense, old-fashioned atmosphere.

Guest rooms are furnished with American and French antiques, fireplaces with bedside controls, window seats and sunken marble tubs. Some rooms overlook the ocean, Newport Pier, and the fabled Dory fleet, and all have access to the rooftop sundeck where breakfast is served on sunny days. Ahhh. . . I just want to move into The Doryman's Inn! They spoiled us there.. they're so sweet! and the bed are the most comfortable ever! To hear & see the ocean outside our window was HEAVEN! The price is great & the restaurant downstairs (21 Oceanfront) is sooo tastey! The bedssssss are the besT! and the showers are like a massage! It's truly a treasure !
Pros: everything! The decor. cleanliness. friendly. price. location!!
Cons: umm... they sell out quickly. book in advance
