Seriously Awesome Vet!. This is pretty much my pets second home. I seriously do not have the words to describe the care you get from everyone here. This is a pet owners/lovers place and you will know from the moment you walk in the door. I have been a client here for over a year now and will never go anywhere else. I live over 25 miles from here but can tell you that it is worth it. Found them on the Internet if you can believe that then 2 other people I met randomly recommended Dr. Cohen so it was fate. My boys and even one I had to put to rest all love it there. Everyone there is awesome and super friendly and for sure will never steer you in the wrong direction. Dr. Cohen is really a genius. Seriously, folks, he has that kind of IQ but the nicest guy you'll ever want to meet. When I see him when I come in with my crazy dogs, he always has a joke or a way about him that makes you feel you are safe and in the best hands. He is a multi-pet owner himself and knows the many breeds in and out. He also is certified as a specialist and one of the best vets to ever come out of the veterinary school at UCDavis, plus he rides motorcycles so you know he must be very cool. Dr. Cohen even tweets so check him out @NewportVet.

This place is seriously awesome and I honestly can say I love coming there. It really is as good as it gets.

Take your diabetic cat to Dr. Jeffrey Cohen!. I tell everyone I know who has a diabetic cat to take their cat to Dr. Jeffrey Cohen at Newport Beach Veterinary Hospital. We rescued Oscar, who is half Ocicat and half Manx at 4 months old. Of course we brought him to Dr. Jeffrey Cohen. In 1999, we moved to Oregon for 18 months on business. While there, we took Oscar to a local vet to have his annual shots and annual teeth cleaning.

I was horrified to get a call from the vet, advising me that they had removed one of Oscar's front saber teeth and wanted permission to remove others.

I told them 'No'. I was alarmed that they would remove a tooth and I questioned the necessity since Oscar was only a few years old.

When I returned home and took Oscar to see Dr Jeffrey Cohen he told me that Oscar's teeth looked fine.

Oscar is now almost 14 years old and hasn't lost a tooth under Dr. Cohen's care.

Here's a perfect example of Dr. Jeffrey Cohen being on the cutting edge of what is going on in veterinarian medicine:

In June of 2009, Oscar became diabetic and was taking insulin shots twice a day. Dr. Cohen suggested that we try a new diabetic reversal diet.

Oscar went on the diet and later Deborah Cohen was elated to inform us that Oscar's diabetes was officially reversed!

That's right! Officially reversed!

Oscar is totally off insulin and runs around the house like a kitten!

It is such a tremendous joy not to have to give my cat insulin shots twice a day!

I don't know who is more appreciative, me or Oscar!

Dr. Cohen is a great Veterinarian!. My husband and I won't go anywhere else but Newport Beach Vet Hospital. We tried a couple of places closer to home when we moved from Newport Beach to San Juan Capistrano, but the care wasn't as good. Not even close. Dr. Cohen, Deborah, and the staff in Newport Beach go above and beyond the call of kindness and proficiency. Dr. Cohen literally saved one of our cats when the cat was nearly dead--still & not breathing. Dr. Cohen and his wife are an amazing, kind, patient, gentle, and gifted team and Deborah stays with our pets overnight when they have surgery or are sick so we can sleep. I cannot say enough great things about this place. In a sentence, we drive a half hour in traffic for up to an hour in order to have our pets seen by the skilled Dr. Cohen (and yes, we have jobs and full lives, too. So, an hour is precious time). What does that say about this place? WORTH IT!

MY 5 STAR PICK! Dr. Cohen is a GEM!. I have sent folks to Dr Cohen exclusively for several years because he is incredibly smart, willing to work with people, and a great (famous) vet. Several friends and co-workers have come to me with dilemmas that they could not afford a certain surgery on their cat/dog and were looking at putting the animal down. Everyone has always called me back advising how wonderful Dr. Cohen & staff were, working with them even on the most complex and expensive surgeries and cancer treatments. More importantly everyone is thrilled he was just really a nice guy who loved animals. One friend could not believe his dog liked him as he has bitten his last 2 vets! In this world of large vet clinics with a dozen or more vets on staff who appear to be impersonal and basically just a business - it is refreshing to find this small practice who treat you and your pet as though they matter and truly seem to care about the clients and animals. I will always be taking my dogs and cats to Dr Cohen and have found him very knowledgeable and experienced and wonderfully human. And I realize I am probably the client from hell sometimes when I'm upset about a sick pet and he was still nice and his staff always make me calm! You''l be safe with these people.
