Nobody does fresh fish better than Rusty Pelican. It is so nice to go out and be treated nicely. This is one of those places that stands the test of time. They have always served great fish and steaks and have the nicest servers. Very professional. I love the service here, the food, the water view. I have eaten here at least 20 times and never once had a bad experience.
Great Happy Hour!. The Happy Hour deals were fairly priced and the food was amazing. The view of the Harbor at sunset was perfect for a evening with friends. The bar was very busy and loud at happy hour, but thats because its good!
Best Seafood In Newport!.
Outstanding fresh fish. The Mahi Firepot was to die for. Awesome view of the harbor. The staff is very helpful and knowlegable.
I hear they have the NFL package going for Sunday Brunch.Go Steelers!
Warning! Bad Experience!!. My husband and I received a Rusty Pelican gift certificate. Neither one of us had been to a Rusty Pelican for years. We were surprised with the limited seafood menu and more surprised with the food. Marginal at best. $12 for two little crab cakes which should have been called bread cakes since they had more bread crumbs than crab meat. The wait staff kept trying to clear our plates before we were finished and it was on a Thursday night and not very crowded. The evening ended on an even worse note when they refused to give us the $7 dollar gift card balance in cash. Apparently the disclaimer on the card that the card holder agrees to accept the Rusty Pelican's terms regarding card use exempts them from California State law. I would pursue that, but to what end? We will never go back. I'd just like to warn others. There are better seafood restaurants with a view in Newport Beach
Do not waste your money!! Worst Resturant that we have been to!!. I am just going to be honest, this is my first review and this was probably the worst experience we have ever had!! I had made reservations for my boyfriends birthday weeks in advance overlooking the harbor when we got there we were seated in the worst seats facing a wall what makes it worse was there were seats open by those windows when we were seated. When I said something to the hostess, she basically stated that those seats are already taken and there was nothing that she can do at this point even though I had a reservation specifically asking for those seats!! The food was completley discusting!! I ordered the New York strip well done, the waiter brought it out rare to me when I informed him he told me he would take the same piece of meat and "throw" it back on the grill, it came back out tough and inedible. My boyfriends fish was cold and slimy and definitly not worth the 25.00 we paid for it!! I was so upset at this point we just wanted to leave. The waitstaff acted like they could careless they ruined his birthday dinner and didn't even give us a simple apology the whole entire night!! I will NEVER give this place my business or my hard earned money ever again!! The food and the customer service is horrible and way overpriced!! This happend on September 12, 2008. We called the manager when we got back to our hotel since we were still upset and again we were offered no apology and they basically said that there was nothing that they could do for us to redeem this situation!! Beware before you go here it is not worth your time!!
Excellent place to hang out or impress someone special or a business associate.. This place rocks. The food is good, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is terrific. 180 degree views of the bay, right over the water. The place is all windows, both floors. Upstairs there's a bar, lounge, and live entertainment. This is one of my favorite places. It is on par with 3Thirty3.
Fabulous Seafood!.
My Mom, sisters, my daughter and I (7 of us) ate at the Beach House in September 07. The food was fabulous and the waitress was just wonderful. None of us are from the area, we were vacationing and this helped to make our experience wonderful. The view was also gorgeous. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone but it was very noisy so not for kids.
The only problem was that we had to wait for a table even though we had reservations. When I made reservations I asked for a window view table. When I got there they said they couldn't promise that but they did when the reservation was made. We weren't in a hurry so waited in the lounge for about 15 minutes until a suitable table was available.
GREAT ambience, GREAT food!!!. I went during lunch hour and it was so calm and relaxing that just sitting at the table overlooking the water was very soothing. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgable of the menu and the food was FANTASTIC! Great place to have a first date or to have a business meeting.
