+++++++++++. Great place, awesome food!
Sushi Fix here.
I usually go to the Geisha House in Hollywood, but after an amazing day in Laguna I found myself out with some friends near the one in Santa Ana and was craving some amazing sushi, so decided to give this one a try. I usually don't like to change locations, but I really needed my Salmon and Cowboy roll ASAP. We decided to sit in the bar because we were just going for a small bite to eat. It was a very nice relaxed vibe as it was a Wednesday night. We were in and out and left very satisfied. The bartender was our server and he was on point are food tasted great and the drinks were very tasty. Needless to say Geisha House did not disappoint!
If you have not been, GOOO either location is a HIT!!
Great Sushi in OC!. I am glad I came in last week to check this place out. Nice decor and great sushi! I will definitely be back soon =)
Steer way clear of this dump.. Like to give places the benefit of the doubt - but five trips here confirm for certain that this place just sucks. Maybe it's all happening late in the evening with atmosphere etc. - times I'm never there - but just today we spent 25 minutes sitting at a table - with the entire place EMPTY, staff chatting and catching up, and no one came to take our order - we asked and were told they'd be right over - but no. Then to cap it off, they sat another table next to us and a waitress bounces right out - to them. We left 'cos they'd ruined our appetite. Rude, unfriendly - better sushi in almost every joint I've ever been to. Don't waste your time.
Great atmosphere - Great VIBE :). I am really surprised about all the negative reviews about Geisha House OC. I am a big fan of the Hollywood location, so was excited when they opened one near me down in OC. Yes, I admit, the location is not necessarily my "ideal" (would prefer more Newport/CDM/Laguna, but it's worth the drive from my beachside home inland up the 55 to Santa Ana to enjoy the vibe of this place. It's really a great concept. First, the restaurant oozes red...the decor and the energy is contagious. It's not your average run-of-the-mill restaurant, where you sit and it's boring and quiet. The Geisha House is large and bustling with activity (but no so much that you cannot hear yourself - or others - talk at your table). Groovy tunes play in the background and the waitress have really unique costumes on, that go hand-in-hand with the geisha theme. There are many seating options...on the large outdoor patio (nice in the summer months), or inside, or even upstairs...The bar is away from the dining area, so if you're there for just a drink, you can go mix and mingle, and be apart from the diners. From visting Geisha several times, the one thing I always notice is how friendly the waiters and waitresses are. They seem to get along well, and work in a team-like way. For example, if one is busy, then someone else will take over or help out....I like having multiple people at my beck and call while dining! We tried many of the appetizers, and I found them all to be delicious. When I get sushi, I like to sample various things, and ALWAYS ask the waiter their opinion about the rolls, and appetizers, and I find that you cannot go wrong in this case! I loved sampling the various dishes and I appreciated the great suggestions. The other amazing thing about Geisha, I found, that OTHER Sushi restaurants do NOT have, is the extensive Sake' list and Alcohol options. The Sake Menu is extensive and it was interesting to sample various kinds - both hot and cold. I loved that!! Finally, I most-recently went here on a weekend night. The owners have come up with a great concept to keep the fun happening on Fridays and Saturdays. At around 10:30, after dining has ended, the Geisha HOuse turns into a Club...it's great - they have DJ's, Dancing, Music, and it's just a great overall vibe....So if you go on Fri and Sat, and get a little buzz going, then you can stay later and dance the night away!! :) One last comment I have is about the Monday night half-priced Sushi....All you can eat, at 1/2 off on Monday....one of my fav nights to go. You can't beat that!!! :) All Hail to Geisha House!! :)
Citysearch Editorial Review. This Ashton Kutcher-backed chain (there’s even one in Atlanta) offers a young, upscale spot for sushi and sake lovers in Santa Ana. Loud rock music pulses around a flowing, cavernous interior decorated with black and red lacquer, sleek leather booths, giant fashion photos and a myriad of pop art. The huge tower of fireplaces dominates the room, even against a backlit bar and half-dozen flat screens. Though the sushi prices are fairly pricey, the restaurant manages to attract an upbeat crowd willing to spend on cocktails and contemporary Japanese dishes like uni shooters, Kobe beef carpaccio, miso-glazed rock shrimp, grilled Mongolian lamb chops and over a dozen huge specialty rolls.
