the real deal.. crossfit riot is for real. if you have the desire and the commitment to be fit, crossfit riot has the amazing people, the positive environment, and the professional training to help you. the workouts are always challenging, the staff is passionate and helpful, and everybody really does come together as a family. honestly, i was skeptical about crossfit at first and it took me a year after finding out about it to take on the risk and the challenge. now, i have not and will never regret it. doing crossfit and choosing crossfit riot has been one of the best choices and investments in my life. slowly, but surely, i am making moves to be better. i'm thankful to be stronger, faster, healthier, more efficient, and in better shape thanks to crossfit. i'm still not where i want to be or could be. i'm still a beginner. i still got a whole lot to work on, but i will still keep coming back and remain confident knowing i have the support of derek fay and the trainers at this box. we all go through life qualifying and reasoning who we are and what we do, and this is my realization: crossfit is worth it. CROSSFIT RIOT IS WORTH IT. I AM WORTH IT. YOU ARE WORTH IT. come get some!
Great atmosphere, Great people, Great workouts = RESULTS.
I've been starting doing Crossfit as an intern for about 2 months now, and this a great experience. Crossfit riot isn't a typical gym like 24 hour fitness, its a community of people from different profession striving to get leaner, stronger, faster, and healthier. Everyone there support each other. The Crossfit Riot family encourages and challenges each member to reach a new level fitness.
The coaches know what their doing, explaining the workouts and modification for the member's ability level. So if you're new to exercising or an athlete each workout is modified to your ability level. There is two kinds of workout. A general workout focusing on all aspects of fitness and a strength workout focusing more on strength.
Crossfit Riot is an experience you just have try and you'll keep coming back for more.
Crossfit Riot > Any other crossfit box out there!.
Started back in October 2011 and got addicted immediately. The staff and fellow members are always helpful and motivating. I started crossfit because 24 hour fitness wasn't getting me the results I was looking for. Crossfit Riot combines gymnastics, cardio, olympic lifting, and nutrition to assist you in attaining your fitness goals. If you're ready to see results, this is the box to be at! check out my progress on:

Crossfit Riot Rocks and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great Crossfit workout!
Awesome gym!!!!. Crossfit Riot is an awesome gym! After hearing from a friend to come here I decided to come try it out. I've never tried crossfit before so it was a new experience. I walked in thinking I was going to start something new and be lost and try to have to keep up with everyone else. That definitely was not the case. You start of in an a program called "on ramp" so you learn all the basics so you don't just go straight into something you don't know about. The best part about "on ramp" is that you are learning but even those workouts are tough. After you complete the "on ramp" course is when all the real fun begins. Everyday there is a new and definitely challenging workout. No matter how good you think you are at an exercise you always push yourself farther every time you do it. I love working out here! The staff and other gym members are very welcoming and it is just an awesome environment. I would recommend Crossfit Riot to everyone!!!!
Great Box and perfect if you want to increase your strength.
I haven't had much experience in the world of Crossfit only about a month and half, but this was a great box with a great coach and members. I had visited this particular box on a saturday when i thought we were doing a strength WOD. So low Rep high weight for olympic lifts. But this was the first time that they had put it on and weren't sure how many and the type of members they were going to get. Needless to say too many showed up and the work out was switched up to a more normal WOD of a for time, back squat with rope climb. Everybody was excited to get into it to say the least and it was a great day.
This box has many little features which i thought were great. One was Multiple tall ropes of about 18-20 feet maybe more. the box which i work out at has short ceilings and no room for a rope so this was awesome for me to try out, definitely be back to to do some more.
another was the standard white board set up around the gym but they had spots where members could write down goals and records and track progress and so they could compare to others which could help keep a competitive edge so they could constantly try and improve.
lastly that might be pretty standard around other boxes but im not sure, but was an emphasis on the bergner warm up with the bar or pvc. I think this movement is incredibly important for beginners and novices to cross fit and olympic lifts to do everyday when they go in to get familiar with the movement and in grain in muscle memory in order to correctly and safely lift heavier weight.
If you want to work hard be patient and stow your pride and arrogance for awhile and go with the learning curve of crossfit, than this is a great place to work out.
The coach was also incredibly welcoming and invited me back any time which i plan to do. Respect the boxes and they respect you.
Let's look good naked shall we. I love CrossFit Riot! I thought I was in the best shape before coming here. Boy was I wrong. Day 1 at Riot was an introductory class and I was sore for a couple of days. Couldn't walk down stairs without holding onto something. And this was just their introductory course..day 1 to be exact. Since then I have morphed into a new body. I was happy with my looks before. But now my ass looks amazing! My legs ...I couldn't tell you how many men and women ask me what I do. I am 5'3'' and I weigh 120 lbs. I can do pull ups (yes this is plural), handstand holds, overhead squats, and so much more. So many women are scared to lift heavy weight because they think they will get BIG!?! NO!!! Quite the opposite. You will look lean and people are going to notice. I am complimented daily on how good my body looks. All of this is due to the staff and programming at CrossFit Riot!!!
Stonger! Faster! Healthier!. As a Wildland Firefighter I need to be in top physical shape. I was referred to Crossfit Riot by a friend and have been training at the box for about 4 months now. I thought I was in decent shape, until I joined CrossFit Riot. The coaches are awesome, motivating, and Derek's programming is top notch. I started out not being able to do any of the WOD's RxD (ELITE level) and now I complete every WOD as RxD. The WOD's are intense, painful, and push me to my limits, but it in the end it's all worth it. I am in the best shape of my life and I owe it all to the CossFit Riot family. For all you new to CrossFit or are looking for a Box. Check out CrossFit Riot! You won't regret it.
Crossfit Riot changed my life. I've been training with the Crossfit Riot coaches for almost three years now and it's been one of the best decisions I've made. Derek and his team of coaches care about each and every member and they push you to do the best you can do. Let's be honest - it's hard work but it's the hard work that pushes you to the limit and gets you the best results. In the past year alone, I've gained several pounds of muscle and who knows how much fat I've burned. I now carry myself in a completely different way - much more confident - more confident than I've ever been. This has affected every aspect of my life including work and sleep. I feel better than I ever have. Do yourself a favor check out Crossfit Riot - it will change your life for the better.
CrossFit Riot is Awsome.
After I graduated college I began looking for jobs in the health and fitness industry. My first job was at a well-known corporate gym. Many of its members were motivated to improve their health, but the majority of them did not know how. The gym was less concerned with teaching its members and more concerned with bringing in money. At CrossFit Riot, I feel that teaching its members how to improve their health and why it is so important is a priority. In fact, as you walk in the door, fitness is defined in 100 words on the wall in front of you.
The coaching staff at Riot is laid back, but expects every one of its members to give it their all, and on those days that it is tough to, they motivate you to give that extra umph. In addition to the coaching staff, Riot has interns from Cal State Fullerton who must complete an in depth internship on methods of training as well as nutrition (this is uncommon with most of the gyms I have researched, but extremely beneficial).
The best part of the gym is the energy that exists in "the box". The walls are painted with brightly colored murals, there is always awesome music playing, and the members are very friendly. Not only is it a great place to work out, it is also a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
WE dont stop when we are tired. WE stop when we are done. Being at Crossfit Riot has been beneficial for my health and my well being. knowing that i can accomplish every task at hand the trainers are very accurate in being their for you to help you accomplish your goal in what you want to have.
